Might I suggest Lousiana Hot Sauce painted on wiring harness to keep the critters from chewing on the insulation. Also works well when applied to the same critters after cooking.:roll:

I just wanted to make sure I understand your failure with POR15. Is it coming off the metal or is the topcoat peeling off the POR15. I've been having good luck sandblasting the metal then preping with a high PH degreaser(like Dynamite or Butyl cleaner) and finishing with diluted phosporic...

I've done it both ways and I have to say I prefer building my own engines. I've just seen too many knucklehead engines slopped together by people to lazy or cheap to do it right.2cents
