Found one lower ball joint bad on driver side. Iwas checking the ujoints as cucvrus described and felt a wiggle as I was manually turning the wheels while on jack stands. Shaking wheel up and down didnt reveal it...until I got out the bar of aging! I guess when I was 20 I didnt need it! My luck...

I took the m1009 out today for about 30 miles and no issues. At all different speeds I kinda shook the wheel back and forth and she seemed fine. My axle shaft ujoints look original...pretty rusty but no slop in them or any other component on the front end. I lacked an assistant to do the dry...
This has happened twice in a week to me. I made a turn at a paved intersection and upon accelerating it felt like my steering was wandering and had to overcompensate the steering wheel to get it to go straight. It would go one way...id overcompensate then it would go the other way which is the...

If you get a pair of baby vice grips a coupla different screwdrivers and some patience just try spinning them as straight as possible. They seem like theyre not moving but be persistant and firm but gentle! Most will come out...might take 20 min per and a rest or three on the ole arm but beats...
Mine was firing up good cold but not on a warm restart.my wait light always cycled appro x 13 secs regardless of temp or time. I replaced the glowplug temp switch on top of drivers side manifold and it is perfect now. Napa pt num ts 4032 about seventeen bucks. They have two styles depending on...
Got my tiny tach installed this weekend. It wouldn't fit in the area near the voltmeter. ..even with a block of wood. It was overlapping and obstructing the voltmeter too much. So I put it in the big square for radio on a block of oak covered in the new acu digital camo.it fits nicely in the...

Ive heard those lmc replacement m1009 lift gates arent great. Crappy fit and flimsey...and the shipping charges are out of the universe. But if you go with it let me know if thats true. I would prob road trip to pick it up and call it a vacation!
Thanx...I know youve been around these things for quite awhile and probably have experienced more repairs than I have. We had cucvs in my first duty at ftknox in 1984 thru my assignment at scholfield barracks hawaii ending in 1993. By then they were replaced with hummers which were much more...
I replaced a leaking fuel injector nozzle after determining it wasnt one of those pesky clamps or the rubber fuel line causing my issue. I installed a new sealing copper washer and torqed it to the spec in the manual. Im usually a stickler on using anti seize lubricant on most everything however...
