Doghead, what I mean to say was the glowplug relay on the firewall. But after correcting my statement I realize this is probably not at fault. I think I will dismount the starter and take a look at it and its wiring.

I did it to my two M1008's and will do the M1028 next year when it warms up. I did it because the conversion is pretty easy to do and relatively cheap. Why risk a breakdown when you can prevent it?

I experienced a rude yard in El Paso. Seems like the larger yards are into stripping the high dollar parts for shipping overseas and to Heck with the little guy that wants a couple parts. I always search Craig's list for non MV parts and SS and vendors from SS for specific MV parts.
