About another 18" and you could have used this: Government Liquidation Government Surplus Auctions Army Surplus Vehicles Sales
(This link is to a 2002 GL Press release so I do not think it violates SS rules as there is no current auction for it/them... This may well have been posted before...
Awesome project, subscribed!
About your winch idea/question: I have always mush preferred that if you have only 1 winch that it go on the back just for the reason you mentioned (backing out is almost always easier than going in more/deeper).
Also... I would tend to agree, you have quite a bit...
OK, I have been around a few months, done a lot of reading but I have mostly focused on 5 ton and up trucks. However, the relative low cost of a 2.5 tons has me interested in something to play with and to keep on stand by.
So I have a couple questions this OP may also benefit from.
1: If...
I wonder if there are any women out there that had to talk their man into this hobby?? (In other words, he was not really into it but she was and SHE got HIM into it??)
Stock parts may be available but after a few weeks of goggling and phoning I have yet to find a set of 4.88 or 4.89 (I have been told by various sources each was made) for the 920. Anybody with any leads much appreciated.
Those guys are sporting a PKM and what looks like a Krinkov or AK. Are those battlefield pick ups or are those guys "on the wrong team"??
That fuel can on the side looks almost as big as the tire. That would hold a LOT of fuel! Glad I don't have to carry that thing!
I'm just sayin.... :)
The 4bt conversion is very popular for Jeeps. Works great.
The upgrade to 4 wheel disc brakes will be like night and day as well.
You may want to look at something like 4.11 gears but to get a better idea you can try plugging in all your numbers in the chart I mentioned at the bottom of...
I am looking at a piece of equipment and need to know what size generator I need to run it. I'm good to go on sizing for single phase but I have never messed with 3 phase stuff so now I'm lost. Any help much appreciated.
The data plate says:
208/230 vac, 3 phase, 50/60 hz, 60 amps per phase...
Quite a detailed discussion of firearms back on page 20 and 21.
I will not have a suitable MV by the time of this trip but if anybody going has an extra seat and a place for me to sleep, I'll pitch in for fuel and take my turn behind the wheel.
If it were delayed by a year I would be ready...
Paul,
Your probably a real nice guy and in person you and I may get along real well. However, as pertains to the above quote, I'm sorry but I have to agree. Everything I have read posted by you in this thread seems to be very negative.
I think we all get it, your not the least bit interested...
Do you see better power or better MPG or both on the one with the larger turbo?
Do all 920's have the larger one?
Do all 916's have the smaller one?
And.... Thanks for the pics!
AND it's NOT illegal in every state. Most states that consider it illegal probably don't allow CCW as well. That's sixteen states right there.
I'm sorry, that is not correct in any way. For instance, Florida (The first state to allow/issue CCW and the state with the most other states...
I may be blind but I could not find that page... Any chance you can link us link finding challenged people to the page??

So far what I have been able to determine it looks like anything over 10kw is going to be 3 phase. Is that pretty accurate?
It is called a "Man trap" and it is illegal in almost every state.
Be it legal or not, it is an excellent way to end up with a civil suit that will cost you more than you paid for your Decue even if you win.

OK, looks like the MEP-003 is what I'm looking for.
Does anybody have some manuals for these in electronic form they can send me so I can read up on them?
In the mean time, a couple questions:
Fuel usage at idle or 50% or whatever they list it as?
I have seen a trailer that has 2 of these...
