Interesting. My motor is a Continental LDT-465-1D. Do you know which motors are different. All the motors I've seen have that carrier housing for the seal.

Bump. I know I could make the rear seal carrier gasket out of gasket material but, i'd rather find one to buy. Thanks for the help.[thumbzup]

I got my Clutch, Pressure Plate, and gasket set in the mail. The only thing i'm missing is the carrier gasket for the rear main seal. Where can I get ahold of one that I can buy online? Thanks for all the help.:-)

I'm sorry I left this thread hanging so long, but I'm going to order a master clutch set, and transmission gasket kit from C&C tomorrow.:) I'm also looking for a rear main seal so I can change that out while I have the trans pulled. Anyone know where I should get one?? I've been searching high...

Funny! I also broke that same rod on my passenger side this past sunday. I wasnt sure if it was a solid rod or two studs, but I eventually got it all taken apart. I'm going to get some stainless 1/4" rod, nuts, and some fiber washers, and it should be as good as new. I'll probably take care of...

Guys thanks for the advice so far. Here is what I was able to do yesterday. I removed the inspection cover on the bottom of the bellhousing, put the transfer case in neutral, put the transmission in 5th, and had my brother push in the clutch to the floor. I was able to turn the short shaft...

I would think about running it if I inherited this problem, but the fact that it has come up just recently after purchasing it has me worried. Does your truck grind in 1st and Reverse? I've read how so many other members have this problem. Alot of them contribute this to the lack of synchroes...

Today I took a look inside the inspection plate, and it looks like the clutch is not disengaging all the way. With the transmission in 5th and the Transfer Case in nuetral, we had the clutch to the floor and i could spin the shaft between the Transmission and T-case. But it wasnt quite spinning...

When I got the new deuce I had to kill the engine about 5 times by putting it in 5th, pressing the brake, and releasing the clutch. This was because the engine shutoff cable was corroded and stuck at the pump. I've since freed up the shutoff and it works as it should now. However I'm not sure...
