Really need some help guys...M101A2 Lunette ring height

double check the welds, not sure if the lunette is cast or not and weld appropriately. I fairly certain my old one on my M116 is cast, but it involves some interesting welding techniques to safely weld cast iron. Good luck!

didn't see the PDF although that does look like it would work well if he can get the clearance that way

Really need some help guys...M101A2 Lunette ring height

could switch to electric brakes with an axle swap, those are fairly cheap since you have standard wheels on there. I'd be really concerned with moving the ring up because it would have a negative effect on the surge by putting a moment on the piston. The only way the surge would work properly is...

Really need some help guys...M101A2 Lunette ring height

would you consider losing the surge brakes and going to one of the old style lunettes? would bolt right in and you wouldn't have the big honking box on the front. Can't imagine with the 6x6 you'd really need the surge brakes anyway. Gets you the much smaller front end and you can spin the ring...

Is this body worth saving.....or rare

wished I was still in NC, I would have snatched that up last year to stick on my M116 as I start converting it to a camping trailer...

    can anyone ID this trailer?

Updated the first post with links to pictures on my photobucket instead of craigslist. Had the lunette removed, and the bed looks pretty rusty on the bottom... Also thought the 518's had boxed frames starting about 6 inches behind the lunette similar to the 3/4 tons. Thinking this may a civvy...

    can anyone ID this trailer?

I'm not entirely sure it's an actual Ben Hur though. It has the wrong wheels, wrong tires, not that that means much but the wheels mean a whole lot, and it is sitting way too low to the ground to be a 518

    can anyone ID this trailer?

Appears to be a G-518 Ben Hur, but looks too short. Kudos to anyone who can come up with the answer, because I sure don't have one. Trying to figure out if it's worth a 2 hour trek to go pick it up and how I might go about getting the tired replaced since I have lots of budd rims laying around a...

    removing the mechanical fan

Has anyone removed the mechanical fan on the 230 and replaced with a hydraulic or electric fan? I have an extra hydraulic fan from a Jeep WJ with the PS pump that drives it along with a few electric fans from the scrap yard. Living in Maine the heat doesn't get all that bad and since mine sees a...

    Crew Cabbin'

yeah, I play big saxophones, read bass and contras, so a full back end would be nice, but I have a lot of work to do before I start to fab the back end...

    Crew Cabbin'

I'm hoping to do this to mine at some point down the road without extending the frame though. Hoping the look will end up somewhere along the lines of the Jeep JK. This is more to have a bit more lockable storage as well as a place to put the dogs that isn't in the truck bed. Have a line on an...

    OldM101 a1 axle price?

Current jeep bolt pattern is NOT that standard bolt pattern. The old 5 bolt from jeep is the standard 5x4.5 bolt pattern. The new ones starting with 99 grand cherokees and the new model wranglers are 5x5. Not an issue for the axle companies to put this hub on there, but if you want to put JK...

    OldM101 a1 axle price?

the jeeps use an odd bolt pattern compared to standard 5 bolts, plus you run into track width issues. If the parking brake handles and rods are all there I might be interested in that bit, but the axles and wheels aren't in incredibly high demand. As mentioned above, rims may go to M37 owners...

    m101a3 landing leg handle

I wasn't saying to use an actual drill/gun, just use the impact socket since they tend to be a bit heavier duty than normal sockets and to use the speed crank to turn it

    m101a3 landing leg handle

sorry to rehash this, but I'm about to get a 101a3 landing leg sans handle and since I won't have access to a welder for the near future I thought that this may work. No idea how much force is required to turn these suckers, but here goes. Grind out a notch in an impact socket and turn it with...

    M101a1-M116a1 hub question

well mine "dumps" but will never be used as such. Mine does not have an A1 designation, just M116. Didn't have handles for brakes on it when I bought it, but those could have been removed, and the hassle of adding them is not worth it when I will be switching the axle at some point

    M101a1-M116a1 hub question

ok so pulling the brakes out is as simple as just removing them and putting the wheels back on? I haven't done this and haven't had a lot of drum brake experience. Spoiled I know, but all of the vehicles I've owned have been 4 wheel disc since I've been working on cars.
