pics of voltage regulator. Any ideas why it doesn't look like any of the other ones I see online. There are no external posts or wires and when I went to separate it from the generator it appears to be hard wired.

Is it possible that the other original battery was the problem? I wonder if it had a short if it would cause the one that blew to take all the charge and blow. Thinking of pulling it out and having it tested. Does this seem logical? Each battery tests at 13 V each...

Yesterday started up the hmmwv and booom blew the top off one of the batteries. Not sure what caused it. Replaced the battery and now my generator reads in the red. Voltage at the batteries not running is 28.2V and voltage running is 35.6! I checked the connections at the terminals and also...

First picture is some mystery brackets I found under the rear seats. Other pictures is where I believe the top striker bolt should be the bottom one, but there is no other hole higher up. Drill it out and through the C pillar brace?
