GL Gens at Ft. Polk prices?

agreed. I'm somewhat anxious about the next few auctions coming up. I don't want a repeat of Polk/Warner Robins

GL Gens at Ft. Polk prices?

So did the two Warner Robins units that went up in the same time period. the complete unit I was fighting for went upwards of $1500 when I let it go, and the "parts" unit (which had way more parts on it than the one I bought a few weeks ago... I know because I previewed both units when i picked...

    M88A2 Hercules APU

Yup. I almost posted "the originals were built on the M60 chassis, and later models were built on the M1 chassis..." but honestly, I'm a medic and was going by what a track mechanic had told me. thanks for the correction. I know they've been around for-freaking-ever. I love em though...

    M43 is home

I just found an M43, I'm trying to get my dirty greasy hands on it. I just picked up an MEP 003A, too.... my wife is gonna be pissed when I wind up leaving her a Korea-'Nam Motor pool in the back yard while I'm away on "Business" next year with the Army. what do these things go for? what...

    M88A2 Hercules APU

I can tell you it's a generator/APU out of a large tracked wrecker, which was built on the M1A1 chassis. the engine in an M88 Herc was a V12 Diesel but that's not the one that runs the APU..

    My First MEP-002 w/ASK & M200A1 trailer

I saw that one, and watched it. Decided against bidding on it once the price got around $500. glad to see it went to a member.

    MEP-003 10kw diesel genset

Thanks guys. I'll look into the Kill-a-watt. another question - what's the best way to wash out a fuel tank and purge a fuel system of crappy fuel and water? I got some hoses and the missing pump ( i had two, just needed one) but now I'd like to purge the lines and filters and wash the tank...

    MEP-003 10kw diesel genset

is there a way to install a Tach on these even temporarily so I can set it right? or just watch the Hxz and adjust according to sound/Hz meter? I have to replace the link for the idle control because mine is broken, and I don't want to screw up my genset.

About to pick up my MEP 003A

UPDATE: I picked it up today. It's decision time - I took a look at it, and sure enough, the Voltage Reg is gone and so is the injector pump. BUT... It turns over by hand with a socket wrench on the blower wheel bolt on the crank. Also, I was able to get most of the parts I needed from a...

About to pick up my MEP 003A

just thought of something... do the newer MEP 803 TQGs have any interchangeable parts with these sets?

About to pick up my MEP 003A

gotcha. having never worked on these particular models, what size socket would I need? I'm assuming it has a crank pulley with a bolt I would attach my socket wrench to in order to turn it over.

About to pick up my MEP 003A

ouch. and they're not easily seen in those shots I posted, so there's no way to really know until I get the unit, correct? this is not looking good. assuming the worst, I may be lucky to break even, If I'm understanding you guys right, and If I decide to keep it, I may be dumping quite a bit...

About to pick up my MEP 003A

thanks for the heads up, I fixed them just in case. those were just bookmarks, but all the same, it's edited now. I'll watch that closer next time. As for the IP and VR, do you mean they're some of the first things removed, or the first things that go bad?

About to pick up my MEP 003A

I think that will be the deciding factor, along with the motor's condition. if it turns over by hand, and the fuel system parts are there, I'll go forward with piecing it back together. if not, I'll part it out if either of the two are true. side note - I can get just about all of these...

About to pick up my MEP 003A

epitts, that's the exact panel I mentioned above. I can get the correct volt meter (which doesn't appear to be on that panel) and I think that combined with the parts on that panel, I can rebuild the control box to working order. I downloaded the 24P manual, and I'll be staring at the wiring...

About to pick up my MEP 003A

thanks for the feedback. I'm not sure - I didn't catch the missing starter until AFTER I'd won and paid for the genset. the missing tank I can work around, and I figured I could pretty easily make some sort of air cleaner housing work. the start I found for $75 online, and I know surplus...
