One of my air tanks had a pinhole leak due to the previous owners not draining the moisture out of the air system. I ordered 2 tanks and they sent me the tanks off of a 5-ton truck.
The 5-ton tanks seem to have much larger fittings, so I'd need to get some brass bushings to reduce them to...
I need to remove the spare tire on my M35A2 in order to replace my air tanks. Does anyone know if the two bolts that hold the tire to the wheel to the winch bracket are reverse threaded? Just want to make sure which direction to turn before I go to town on them in a sorry attempt to break them...
Nothing wrong with my transmission in my Deuce, I was just curious if a NV4500 could be bolted to a multifuel and work with the rest of the driveline in a Deuce with the correct bellhousing. I could never see replacing the multifuel in my Deuce with another engine (can't get enough of that...
Does it hurt to use the manifold heater when its cool(ish) out but it was cold overnight? I can't see it hurting anything, but the TM's specify to only use it below a certain temperature. I don't think mine has a thermal switch on it because it sure made a difference when I started my truck...
Its been getting cooler here at night in NC, down in the mid 30s or so. I decided to drive my Deuce to work today . This morning it was about 55* out and when I went to start my Deuce I cranked it for about 5 seconds or so with no luck. Even tried giving it a little then a lot on the...
My Deuce has a small pinhole leak in one of the air tanks and I'd like to replace them.
First of all, does anyone know off hand what the stock air tank capacity is?
Has anyone tried mounting a larger air tank, like this one, Firestone Air Tank, 20 Gallon - (6) 1/2 NPT Ports, (1) 1/4 NPT Port...
Well, just sucked it up and ordered a spin-on oil filter kit. I figure since I drive my Deuce fairly often, having the anti-drainback filters will help prolong the engine life a bit anyway, and no more messing with these canisters either :-D
When I got the new oil filters they came with a couple different o-rings (not sure why it came with more than 1, I guess they are for different applications), I did replace the one that seals between the bottom of the filter canister and the engine.
So my Deuce is leaking some oil. It started when I first changed the oil a few months back. Torqued everything down, fired it up, oil came pouring out around the ring between the bolt head and the top of the oil canister. Torqued it down a little bit more and it looked like the problem was...
Thanks, its a Sony Webbie HD, the model number is MHS-PM1, one of these goofy looking little things:
Newegg.com - Open Box: SONY MHS-PM1 Silver 5.0 MP 1/2.5" CMOS 1.8" 230K LCD 4x Digital HD Webbie Camera
The video quality is great and the audio is pretty good, but the quality is pretty poor...
I wanted to try out taking a HD 1080p video with this Sony Webbie camera, so what better to video tape than a Deuce? :)
Make sure you click the box to change it from standard definition to 720p or 1080p.
What a great way to start off the week... instead of looking in the fisheye mirror on my Dodge I was looking at the rear of my Deuce while backing up around the gravel circle in my driveway... and guess what was PERFECTLY lined up? FleetCharge FleetCharge FleetCharge FleetCharge Water Water...
Ok, I'll do that. I'm using the FleetCharge antifreeze which already has the SCA's pre-mixed into it, so I just just try to get a 50/50 mix of distilled water:antifreeze, right?
I hope no other passages are clogged as well, but the engine is running nice and cool.
Alright here's the update. Wanted to give the air another shot, so I drove the Deuce in front of the garage where I could use the compressor with a straight hose instead of a 5 gallon air tank with a coiled hose that got caught on everything that soon became a projectile as i threw it across...
No, I tried opening the petcock before draining the radiator, as well as removing the petcock assembly and jamming the wire into the 45* bend, and even with the engine running. Still couldn't get anything to come out. Tried a little compressed air up the hole, no luck though. I couldn't...
Trying to get the coolant/distilled water mix put into my Deuce today. I found what appears to be the cooling system drain on the rear of the engine, above the starter. The petcock didn't drain anything, so I took the whole petcock assembly off but nothing is coming out of the drain... I tried...
Mods I hope it is OK to make a thread where other people can post pictures of their trucks as well... if not I'm sorry.
Here is my 1973 M35A2 w/o winch, "Whistler" turbo, 7XX hours and 13,XXX miles.
Sorry about the mess on the ground, need to clean up all the paper towels I had jammed in the...
