Okay, I got the thing running, turns out I did have a second bad diode. Thanks Triple Jim! and to everyone else. I am getting no output on the DC charging system, and are the fans on the mep701a supposed to come on right at start up? Miner never came on, and I don't see a temperature switch...
What I did was go to advance auto and buy a $4.99 battery tray. Then purchase two lawn tractor batteries. These batteries fit perfectly in the tray. Then bolt the new tray over the old tray, and place batteries in the new tray. Make a jumper to go from the inside negative terminal to the...
It turns out it was not a diode, but a capacitor, CR14. The capacitor is marked AKK 522. I checked every connection and every wire, could a stuck relay cause that? I flipped all four relays. They are corroded, so I can't read what kind of relays they are. Here is a pic.
There are two floats on the fuel level tube. The bottom one is the low fuel shut off switch, the upper one is the aux fuel pump shut off switch. The bottom one can keep the unit from starting. I have an easy way to test it. Disconnect the wire to the fuel level tube. Unscrew the fuel level...
Good news, the solenoid works just fine when I jumped it from the battery. I checked and re-checked the fuel level float switch. As a last resort I tapped on all the relays (k1,k2,...) Suddenly everything worked perfectly. Then about three minutes into running smoke puffed out of the board...
I had a chattering solenoid, my fuel level switch works, and now the solenoid does nothing. I pulled the plug, and only get 16 volts when I turn it to run. While I had the volt meter hooked to the solenoid plug, I moved my fuel level float up and down, and it would go from 0 - 16 volts. I...
did you check the fuel shut off solenoid? Try holding it in while turning it over. You should hear a loud clink when you turn the start switch to the run and or start position. Good luck!
If it is a 016b. (i have had three marked as 016b, but were actually 016es with the yanmar l100 engine) then it could be as simple as making sure the throttle is wide open. Do the fuel pumps make noise? or just click?
Did you get it going? Have you checked to make sure your fuel lines are in the right places. I had a mep016e that someone had swapped the hose positions on the tank. The fuel pump ran, but nothing ever bled out. I retraced the lines, and yahtzee! Good luck.
I am new on SS. I re-read the rules before I posted any responses about the Lombardini generators. I figured because nobody was actually talking about the auction itself, things were okay. My take was, someone wanted to know what something was, not unlike me asking a question about a part...
I spoke to a friend who works on lombardini gensets. Mostly lighting units for night construction. The 9kw marking is the power output of the diesel engine, or about 12.5hp. He said most likely they are Kirsch generators, which usually run at 60 hz at 1800 rpm. However the dc version also...
