I was side tracked due to the issues I had this weekend with my trial run of the truck. I have drill this coming weekend so while I am at the unit I will attempt to upload the manual. It is around 1500 pages. I will try and separate it into smaller files to get it loaded in the TM section here...
I would not dismiss using older cables if I could find a set in good condition. The problem is I have to get the truck back up as it is going to the CAT dealer at the end of the week. I did find the exact parts used to make these cables. Remy Battery carries all of the 2/0 terminal ends and the...
The problem with buying used cables is that they have been abused and worn out and most of the terminals have started to split so you can’t get a tight connection.
I had to start the truck t move it today and got the “No Charge” light. Looked at my voltmeters and they were at 0. Checked the battery cables and it turns out that the ride loosened them all up. Not only that but the guy I bought it from had installed the cables with split connectors so you...
Does Anyone know where to source this connector. Grote has all of the other correct connectors except this one with the stud on the one end. Thanks in advance. I searched through a ton of the postings on batteries and could not find an answer.
UPDATE- Before I read any of these comments I went back down to the truck to check it out now that it is cold. I checked the oil level and it I was within normal range. I started the truck and I immediately had 40psi oil pressure. No check engine or dash lights. No smoke coming from the vent...
I took the truck out today for its first trip. I went to get fuel. When I got back to the house I noticed that I had gone from 40psi oil pressure at the start to almost nothing on the gauge. There was a lot of white smoke coming out of he tube under the left side of the engine and oil had...
“for the most part” just isn’t good enough for me when you are looking for part numbers and specifications. Many cab, engine, transmission, electrical and upgraded parts differences.
I did my due diligence and searched exhaustively for it, hence the post. I thought the case may be that it has not been released yet. Luckily I can take a printer to my unit and print it out from their system. I just thought maybe someone had one.
Sorry about he original post. I tried to attach a picture. I just wrote it up myself. I just received this from my old unit yesterday concerning our alternators.
This is the current directive for replacing the alternator as the current 100 amp is becoming obsolete.
FMTV 100 AMP Alternator
The FMTV 100 amp alternator NSN 6115-01-504-0680, P/N N1511 will
soon become obsolete. Units should convert to the 260 amp alternator
NSN 2920-01-559-2715, P/N...
When they went to the A1 with C7 engine the TM was then accessed through the diagnostic software. The manual I have was pulled from that program and is a PDF. You do not need the software to access it. The A0 version is a regular printed TM or pdf.
The soldiers are very frustrated that they can’t get a hard copy either. They have to access it from the computer that rolls around on a cart. They could print them up but the manuals are too big and would exceed their budget for ink and paper.
I will be going back at the end of the month. I will be getting every document I can. I am on my iPad right now but I will try to upload it this weekend.
I went to my old unit today and was lucky enough to have one of the mechanics put the -10 Manual on a disc for me. It is over 1500 pages. I think it is too big for email. Any suggestions on how I can make it available to the A1 guys?
