Godspeed, drive safe, and have a good time at school! What a great daily driver.

    M43 Resurrection

Sadly, we have had a very large setback. The loss of spark happened because the distributor shaft stopped spinning. The distributor shaft stopped spinning because the spindle on the oil pump sheared off some teeth and caused the gear to be rounded off on the cam shaft. The oil pump that was...

    Coming Attraction - project #6 M43 build

OK, so when your new engine goes in, I fully expect to see videos posted of YOU there at the startup squealing and clapping and banging on the steering wheel.

Well, it's a little far from running perfectly, but at least it's running (or was). Lost spark on it last night for some reason, but we were too tired to troubleshoot it. Had four guys helping me, and I am so grateful. Mixed up some paint last night, and one of them is going to shoot it for...

And is anybody surprised the fuel system was clogged from the tank forward? I'm not. Dang thing sat for 12 years.

    M43 Resurrection

First part of the engine work went pretty smoothly, now I feel like every single thing is arguing, and I'm pressed for time. I had to let an employee go in my store last week, so I am covering lots of days until I can hire someone else, plus I am having to deal with a workers comp investigation...

    Coming Attraction - project #6 M43 build

I too sit and stare at your M43, just wishin' and hopin'. Grandbabies could sure come in handy - I have a truck that needs cleaned & swept. Let me know if you ship them up here, I'd pay Davis-Bacon for good work. ;-)

Um, I was wearing safety glasses when the motor mount bolt fell on my head, which I'm sure the bolt saw on it's way down, which is why it decided my forehead was a much softer landing spot.

Looks great, really like the tires - they're mean looking! Just try and stop her, she'll go anywhere with that rubber. How awesome that you have scored an IV. If I can get mine locomoting under its own power and painted some shade of green in time for the airshow, I'll be happy. All your...

    M43 Resurrection

Now we're getting somewhere! I need to make a punchlist for all the little things on the engine that still need to be done (like getting the right size cotter pins for the rear motor mounts). I am very happy with the paint color (which is amazing - that I am happy with it, that is), and...

Excellent work, and I don't see a thing wrong with your bumper at all.

I could not be more grateful to Gammagoat1. He stopped by today and not only GAVE me the inverted flare fitting I needed, he gave me the whole PCV valve assembly, with a PCV valve that rattles very nicely. Plus a couple other miscellaneous parts (one of which is a cable lever for a fording...

    M43 Resurrection

What a pain in the bootie today was. Dad found a set of 6 flywheel bolts for sale online for about $26 including shipping. We spent over 3 hours today yanking that stupid engine out of the parts truck for two lousy bolts. However, as Dad pointed out, we would have to wait a week if we ordered...

    M43 Resurrection

Spent all day today doing what felt like not much. Dad kept fiddling with the PCV valve and finally got it apart. There is a little pin at the bottom of the insert for the PCV valve that indexes into the hole in the bottom of the housing. Well, that pin broke off. After a lot more fiddling...

    M43 Resurrection

Now you guys are just making me laugh. The visual of Dad smacking the PCV valve on the workbench is just more than I can bear. Probably with a furtive look over his shoulder first. Or not. This truck has more colors of a greenish sort on it somewhere than you can shake a stick at. Sooo...

    M43 Resurrection

I am a bit behind due to scheduling conflicts, but still working on it. The PCV valve is stuck, so Dad has been diligently trying to get it to free up. When that sort of thing happens, my usual response is to start smacking it on the workbench. Not effective. Did not get it ready to take to...

Another One Bites the Dust ... New M37 Owner

That is awesome!! I watched the video, and when she fired up, I stood up out of my chair and did a happy dance for you. Then I noticed the man in the red shirt in the video doing the same happy dance I was doing. I am a bit behind you due to scheduling conflicts, but I am so excited to hear...

Another One Bites the Dust ... New M37 Owner

Congratulations!! I probably won't get mine running by Saturday, as I have had to cover some shifts in my shop that I did not plan on. Post a video when you start it, if you can. I love the sound of these engines (well, all engines actually, but they're all different).

    M43 Resurrection

Got the whole carb assembly transferred to the new engine, reattached almost all of the fuel and other supply lines. Checked the old engine to make sure all the necessary bits were off, and then hauled it out to the "parts" M43 (which I am convinced is a builder - it's all there!). Got some...
