The motion control valve is what controls the hydraulic knuckle motion. It gets an input from the front steer axle and translates that movement into the hydraulic bend in the middle of the truck.
Count me in!!! That sounds like fun. I actually hope to have this thing on the road within the next few weeks... Well, barring insurance issues that is.
I have some parts being driven up here this weekend. Cross your fingers we got the right ones, and this pig might be mobile next week...
The speed limitation is just for when unhooked. These units are designed to drive around with the RBU for normal conditions, and separate and grab a new rear body unit in about 20 min to fit your logistics needs.
Alright Gents... I am hoping someone can help steer me in the right direction on how to get this valve body fixed. (Pun intended)
I took delivery of my MK48 FPU just 2 days ago. We got it running the first evening with a fluid top off and new batteries. Purrs like a kitten... BUT the...
INdoor is going to be tough on this one... I have too many other things occupying the space I have and this thing is quite large.
I am running into problems where they don't want me to haul anything with a LOGISTICS VEHICLE, not even my own equipment or personal belongings. Striking out...
I am not sure if this will work... But my buddy took a short video of the initial start up. It actually started so easily, he missed the beginning! And of course, I am stunned that you have to depress the brake before it cranks over! Duh!

Help identify these parts... :)
I found a treasure trove of parts in the passenger seat. Looks like a bunch of tie downs for the RBUs, an axe, shovel, and pick. what are these bars for? They are too long to lock out the hydraulic knuckle. There are also a lot of brackets... NO idea what...
FPU delivered...
Here she is! Unloaded safe and sound. Topped off the fluids, add batteries, and she fired right up! Wow. I do have a small hydraulic leak, but hope to get that sealed up in the next day or two. Sounds healthy!!
Hey guys! My MK48 FPU was dropped off today... I am in process of examining the machine, doing some fixes, and topping off fluids. I hope to try to fire the engine before the end of the day.
How do you guys insure these things? They will let me register just about anything in Michigan...
I received my MK17 and MK18 rear body units yesterday... Thought I would share a few pics.
The rolloff unit has seen better days and will need some serious TLC. I think the loader went crazy with a fork truck and snapped off most of the fittings connecting the truck to trailer. Darn thing...
Thank you!
EUC approved, PAID invoice, and hopefully loading up the end of this week! Anyone have experience moving these things? Although listed as "operated recently" the batteries are either missing or dead. One trucker passed on pickup because he couldn't get the air brakes released...
While I am interested in all the manuals available for this vehicle, does anyone have the TM for the MK-48? I have been searching for information on how to operate the vehicle and inspect / change fluids prior to cranking over. Google is coming up empty...
