Heh, I got another one too A little bit ago, my Dad and I took the Deuce' down to the local fire hall to pickup a chicken BBQ dinner. When we park it, and get out, I notice one of the canvas bows has collapsed and the tarp we have over the rear is sagging in the middle So, with Dad's help, I...

Gotta also appreciate the fact that the truck has some nice big gaps between most of the body panels, it's a jury-riggers dream come true

Thought I'd bump this one up because it's worth it My Dad works for a defense contractor, and the place he's at has a little mini-garage that has a few MV's in it so they can experiment with things like equipment placement and maintenence proceedures. Nothing spectacular, there's a Humvee, and...

    Fuse for the temperature gauge

We lost the oil pressure guage in our Deuce' after a week of hard rain corroded a contact, untill we figured that out, we had to jury rig a backup <img src="http://redneck.theexitwound.com/pictures/gauge.jpg" border="0"> "wiggle the plug" so to speak and it may come back to life

    Just curious - daily drivers?

Well, I was driving her down a rural backroad, the kind that only has 1 and 1/2 lanes, no divider line. At the crest of a hill, I found myself face-to-face with a chevy pickup, and in that split second, decided that putting her into the embankment was prefferable to a combined-speed 80mph...

    Just curious - daily drivers?

Pretty ho-hum....... 88' Ford Econoline E-150 conversion van, 302, 3 spd auto, slowest brick of a vehicle I've ever owned, but cant argue with the pricetag Free From a neighbor who was going to send it to the junkyard, it had no brakes. Problem? $7 elbow fitting, only has 78K on the clock...

getting my first deuce! have some questions!

Things I've noticed driving the deuce....... The driver sits closer to the centerline of the vehicle than in a normal car or truck, so, drive using your mirrors untill you get the hang of it, you'll have a natural tendancy to drive too far to the left of your lane. If oncoming traffic starts...

Saturn is definately the place to go, we just got a whole box full of bulbs to replace the burnt out ones in our Deuce cab. Also, just about anything you could ever need to replace on them, gaskets, filters, etc. can be obtained from good ol' Saturn

    shortening exhaust stack- good idea?

One of the deuces' we looked at while shopping for ours had it's stack cut down a few inches, they cut it off at a 90 degree angle and installed a flapper to keep rainwater out

How long have you had your Deuce???

We had been "thinking" about getting one for years, even since I was a little kid of 10, just in a sort of "Wouldn't it be cool to have one?" kind of way, but it never got more serious than that. Then, in 03' we saw one for sale locally, an ex-National Guard M35A2 that someone had gotten...

We've got a cloth top, no complaints about it yet, then again, winter hasn't set in yet, so that may change depending on what our tollerence for cold is
