Need help deciding on an M-? truck

When you say off-road recovery truck, what are you recovering? Having both an M35A2 and a M925 I can say neither is a nimble creature. Typically new guys are into the rock crawler scene, these vehicles even bobbed need quite the trail to operate on. Which is why I asked what are you recovering?

Inspections & loadouts at Hill AFB in Utah

I'm thinking of bidding on some cabinets at Hill. I can get on base, but I may not get leave to make the run in time for the pick-up. Anybody in the area able to loadout and store a lot?

    Coolant system flush procedure?

I found a few army manuals that refer to reverse flushing the radiator and block separately. This was done by running water against the normal coolant flow but not a pressure. This is somewhat different than what some dealers do by flushing the system as a whole, which can cause sediment in...

    Coolant system flush procedure?

While I'm sure the SOP is to inspect and reuse a gasket. I'm always a fan of replacement, weather it be within the motor or as simple as the oil plug gasket. Most of the time they are cheap enough that even those done during periodic maintenance are just replaced. Obviously there are gaskets...

    Coolant system flush procedure?

Are you asking because you think you have sediment in the system. Or are you just trying to replace coolant, and want to get all of it out. I've always been against flushing transmissions and coolant systems with the machines they use. I'm more in favor of drain and replace. I think there...

    M931a2

My M925 is the same way, although I've never run it dry, but just under 1/2 tank I find fuel, as it's getting low in the tank. Fuel gauge on my M915 is weird to but I blame that on the cylindrical tank.

sf 97 question for M932a1 tractor

Yes but depending on state, your GVWR may differ. My M915 has GVWR of 50k by the data plate, but ND wants GVWR to be equal to GCWR. So empty weight plus max towed load. I can do it the other way but then I have to register my trailers by weight. Which is ok for 1 but many gets complicated...

Check List Before buying M939 variant trucks.

Mines not I was just stating an officer never checks the tag. My RV weighs over 13 fully loaded and it's not a big one. The point is there is a fair amount of the public that is in violation of their license and don't even know it because the goverement doesn't make it easy to know. In ND and...

Check List Before buying M939 variant trucks.

Not in every state, in fact I can't recall the last time an officer looked at the tag on my F350. License and registration, unless something is fishy, they don't look at much else.

Check List Before buying M939 variant trucks.

Look at your drivers license, it probably states the weight you can operate. Commercial or not your license covers vehicles based on GVWR. You can operate a 5 ton as long as it's registered under 26000. Doesn't do much for payload capacity though, but then most people don't use them other...

moding the 915, any clues to where to go from here

If your talking about Soni's M920 he built the visor. I'd send him a PM to get specifics. I plan to do something similar with mine, going to use a cardboard template and fab up a one off visor.

    M 954A1 cold start

I'm not the expert you are. I wouldn't presume to know which series of trucks had a Mack. His first sentence, nor the following refer to having a military truck. Not recognizing M954, I couldn't even begin to guess. I posted in an attempt to gather more information. Next time I'll just...

Air system relief valve opening on M925...Frozen air lines/valves?

to bad you can't remove the material and bake it. The desiccant we use at work can be recharged by baking, saves a lot until someone sets the oven at 650 instead of 300...
