Thanks Clinto, I am somewhat of a "search Nazi" myself. I subscribed to the thread you mentioned months ago (I have been planing the removal and repair for months), but like you said, it doesn't really cover what I'm having issue with
As for the fork and shift collar they are NEW, the fork is...
So I'm trying to get ready for the Ga Rally and decided it was time to pull the winch and figure out why the drag brake wont work (or be adjusted to hold the drum) and the clutch handle goes past the de-tent (de-tent ball and spring fell out)
Like the rest of the truck, the winch was rebuilt...
Yes, radiator cap is on the coolant tank, I was being sarcastic :-)
Funny thing is I have been monitoring it and it had coolant in it, lo and behold the nipple was cracked and the radiator was low, still learning my truck is all
On my M818...
Replaced the brass nipple that comes out of the top of the radiator, must have been cracked for a while, had smelt some coolant and couldn't find a leak. Now I have to find the part of the TM that rells me how to ad and check coolant and bleed the air.... Like a radiator cap would...
Well I wouldn't' say "just" for her but it was the biggest single influence to build it. I needed somewhere to work on it! I have a 12x12 roll up door and 14' tall because of her for sure.
She actually lives under a shed outside....
Mule got a cushy place inside all dry and warm...
Use my new shop! New axle boots, clean 2012 SS GA Rally rocks from tires ...
Well I used my new shop (24x48x14) to work on the M818 for the first time
First I found out why my tires were mysteriously going flat, the front drivers side had a rock the size of my thumb! from the hole my truck got...
I did it about a year ago, it's EASY to do....
That being said, its time consuming with lots of pieces to take off and go back, but nothing about the procedure was hard
I think it took about an hour and a half from start to finish
Good luck
So I upgraded my NDT's to super single FMTV tires and rims right before the 2010 GA rally on my M818
Never had a moments problem
Fast forward 2012 GA Rally
I "air down" to about 30psi for the trail rides , go play in the mud, get stuck, do some hill climbs, traction is no issue have a blast! (...
Makincold and Soldier-B made it home safe, 60MPH in the M818, great weekend! Learned a lot about my truck and its abilities, special thanks to Squirttruck as usual for expert winch advice.
Videos and pics in the multimedia thread to come!
Makincold, Shrapnel, and Soldier-B are headed out, 2 hours or so and a lunch stop, see you early afternoon!

Wrecker assistance with M66 ????
If all goes as planned I'll have the cab plate and legs for my M66 ring mount on this weekend.
If I bring the ring can someone with a wrecker use the boom to lift the ring into place?
I arrive sometime Thursday and leave Sunday
Thanks!
