    If you had to choose....

FlyingVan911, That is what scares me the most. Most of them say trans shifts great of what have you. But I know what a cost getting a cars tranny overhauled. I cant even imagine what the Allison would cost.

    If you had to choose....

TacticalDoc I have one as well. Purchased back in 1977 for $5,000. It has not been out of the safe for years except for oil wipe down. I think I'm going to take Kenm352a's advice and just bide my time until the right one comes along. My son pointed out a good point this evening. He said, Dad...

    Bell 47 Helicopter - Australia

Its likely a 47D1 or D2. Easy way to tell is the gas tank is flat and goes across the tail boom. Later models had pod tanks on both sides of the tail boom which did not come out until after Korea. There are several D models still flying in the US. At least three (3) I know of. It probably...

    If you had to choose....

Thanks for all the reply's. I'm leaning towards the 923A2. After looking at GL the prices on decent trucks are still pretty high. The M923a1 I'm looking at is 4 states away. It seems like its in good shape but I really don't want to drive 456 miles just to look at a truck I may or may not...

What about parts for the Deuce?

Are things like break drums available for the duce. What happens if you need to replace a break drum? Are parts like this available? I have a chance to pick up a good condition M35A2 locally, but am worried about parts. Want to eventually restore it although its in really good shape.

    M923A2 vs M931A2

M931 tractor vs M923a2 cargo I have been told that the M931 tractor rides much more rough than the M923A2 cargo. Is this true. I was also told the 931 tractor does not do as well off road due to less traction.

    Hello from Alabama

Thank you all! I have had the bug since I was 12. My father used to take me to his office downtown in Birmingham when I was a kid and a car dealer on 1st Ave had several surplus Army trucks for sale on the lot and I would walk down there and climb all over them. They had troop and cargo and...

M929A2 from Atlanta GA to Birmingham AL

Yea, I can drive it I guess. They say it "Hard to Start" don't know what that means but they also say it runs and drives and the bed lifts. Was worried that it may have a problem driving back here. Is hard to start a sign of a big problem or something like a fuel filter.
