My M1008 has a 6" lift with 37" hummer tires and wheels. I am wanting to put a reciever hitch on the truck and would like to know how big of a drop hitch others are using with this combo??
Ok, I want to see the write up on this thing. I never want mine to be a hot rod or anything like that but I would like to have good pull power when pulling a trailer.
Wow, I can already tell I do not know near enough about what I need to know. Mite as well be talking greek because I don't know what is being said.
When I get closer to this part of it I will have to get pictures of what I have and then revisit this. Man, I feel dumb now
Well, figured I would report back.
I put the new glow plugs in, changed the female terminals, charged the batts to 100% and still had a really hard time starting saturday afternoon which was around 55* outside.
When replacing the female spade ends I used ones that weren't covered with a plastic...
Welp, picked up the AC60G glow plugs and femaile spade connectors a few minutes ago. Hope to get these things swapped out starting late this afternoon. Keeping my fingers crossed that this will help in the starting dept.
Thanks Warthog, this is my first actually owning one of these myself. Messed with a lot of HumVee's over the past few years but being a grunt I never got the chance to really get into the workings of these things.
I have a lot to learn.
The guy I got the truck from gave me a EBAY link that showed some american made glow plugs that were supposed to only be for the 1008-1009 vehicles and are supposed to be around 100* hotter. These were about $54.00 for the set. Does this sound about right?
