there is a switch that will do the job , I have one on all my WW 2 and M-series vehicles , they are common in all M-113's , military master kill switch , installed inside vehicle it will do what you need , it will require running your ground leads inside the truck and then back to the power bar,

my 1009 is done in 3 color , almost same pattern as the 3 color woodland pattern , is 30277 the mustard shade, if so that's the shade I'm after

do not waste your time rebuilding the rotor these can be had new or used , almost all the new alternators are Chinese so make sure you have a Delco as the other ones the parts in most cases can't be mixed, and the 27 si is not hard to find, contact any rebuilder , I get them for free from my guy...
