Not only will we be posting (either as part of this thread or in some new ones) more info as we get things settled, but I will set up a webpage with consolidated info (for ease in printing out for reference).
I'll be meeting with the folks in a couple of weeks and hope to get Mike over while...
The farm/lodge has plenty to do both on site and nearby for folks that need a break from MV's... So, from a familly standpoint, it is a great place to have a familly vacation even if the rest of the gang isn't as into the MV's, then again, the rally itself (and all of them that I have been to...
I just picked up a bunch of Michelin 1100r20 XL's from Berg in Fayetteville, NC. You have to check often with them as they do not stay in inventory long... :)
They also get in Goodyear G177 fairly often, they don't stay in the warehouse long either.
I looked at a M109 that came out of GA...
I need to update my page on the tanker that I put together for use on the farm, but you can see what it looks like at:
http://www.garbee.net/~cabell/m35pages/m35photos5.htm
Bassically, its a M35A2 with a 1025 gallon polly tank with a Pacer 2.5" pump for drafting water out of the river that...
Yep, I have heard of trucks with the VIN on the passenger side before. Conversations on the BigElectric/G741 site never seemed conclusive as to why, but were pretty conclusive that it was a small number compared to the overall production run (for all varients).
Is your truck a stock M37 or...
I've got a lot of picks of the place that I will have to sort through to find some that show the camping area, and facilities. I know that I don't have any decent ones of the trails though (I never can manage to take a decent photo while driving, forget the camera, or something). I will post...
Honestly, we are going to have to charge "something"... It's one of those things that I will have to figure out with Mike and the folks... I can say that it will not be much, and that we are planning on having food, shirts, etc. Part of it will all come down to how much we want to do as a...
Buggyman: Yes, my Godparent's are Jim and Rachel Graves... :) If you have attending the festivals, then we likely have run into each other: I am the guy who runs the showers/concession stand in the camping are for the Bluegrass Festival (always have a Mv parked nearby, this past year my...
Actually, we are north of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Parkway near us is Skyline Drive
Blue Ridge Parkway ends at the southern end of Skyline Drive where they all come together at I64 near Afton.
More info on Skyline Drive is at...
There are some great two lane roads in the area that are perfect for riding a bike upon... and you can always ride in somebody else's MV when you arrive... :)
Then again, you might be able to convoy up with somebody and thus could bring both the deuce and the bike.
As Mike says, we are talking about the same event. We'll be getting together to go over the trails, organize things etc. but we wanted to make sure that everyone knew the location and the date early.
Send in your suggestions as you think of them to either one of us (or both), or post them here...
I am hosting a rally at my godparents' farm in Syria, Va on Labor Day weekend. We've got about 2000 acres to play with, a bunch of roads on the property and on the neighbor's land that we can run on, several trails in the area (including a few cut by the CCC in the thirties when they were...
Left frame (driver's side) in front of the steering box on the outside of the frame. You will likely have to wire brush the area a bit, numbers are about an inch tall, widely spaced, and not stamped very deep.
Good luck.
I'm a big fan of my 1" wrench for when I'm at the shop and my 6' "cheater bar" for when I'm on the road...
I don't have one of the geared wreches, but a buddy does and I never could figure out how it worked until I saw the PS Magazine page on it that is located on the old site at...
If my memory serves me correctly, Dave at WeeBee Webbing has a dimensioned drawing of the rod and retainer clips on his website.
I had to fabricate a setup for one of my M38's...
Good point. I should've mentioned that by "in a pinch" that I meant that he could give it a shot of ether (a small one) if the cold start setup wasn't working...
As far as getting the presure up, that's what the t-handled pump to the right of the steering column is for. The power feed...
Sounds like one of my trucks on a cold day when I haven't started it for a while and get impatient and don't wait for the plug to warm up the intake... So, check to make sure that it's power feed is hooked up and that it is working (you are using it, aren't you). Also, don't forget to pump...
In a nutshell, it will all work just fine... You've got both service and emergency glad hands on the back of the truck to hook up to the trailer. Trailer does not care that the truck is air over hydrualic, just that you have the air to actuate its brakes, and you do.
Only issue that you might...
I passed this on to a friend of mine in SC who has a Bird Dog (pictured) in hopes that he could help and this was his reply... I suspect that you already know of these sources, if so it never hurts to post them in case somebody else is interested...
"The absolute best place to get into the...
