I've flat towed M37's a lot... Only had a problem twice (and that was on the same trip) and that was towing one behind a Dodge one-ton pickup when we had to make a really sharp turn (u-turn in one case and exiting a gas station in the other) and it didn't want to come back to center...

The correct dimensions for the bows are on my site. A lot of folks have either extended the sides up so that they don't have to bend over as much when moving around in the back, or shortened them so that they can stuff the truck into a garage... My measurments where taken from a couple of NOS...
