At the first signs of lower than normal oil pressure or especially if you get that oil pressure idiot light it's time to drop the pan and replace the pump. The job isn't that bad but it's enough labor and enough expense in oil, filter, and time that to simply inspect it would be a waste. You get...
The usual surplus suspects for the seals and shim kit. To properly torque the spindle nut you need a rather oddball socket - 3-7/8" Eight Point extra deep - that really isn't available to buy since it's made special for the military by OTC...
The CTIS seals rotate on the spindle and simply cycling the CTIS while stationary is not a sufficient test.
Pull the banjo bolts for the CTIS valve off the wheel stud and smell for gear oil.
Have you done a wheel bearing service? The inner wheel bearings are supposed to be repacked, torqued...
I wouldn't.
The military currently uses 15w40 in trucks that were shipped with it. Newer trucks are shipping with ATF (these are all Allison 3700SP transmissions not the older 3070SP) and the Army is servicing these with synthetic Dex IV. From what I can tell the Toyota T-IV is only equivalent...
Initial costs after purchase or ongoing costs once everything is sorted out?
Initial costs can be absolutely enormous. Often eclipsing the cost of the truck itself (for example if you want BRAND NEW tires @ $10,000 - $14,000 from Goodyear depending on LMTV/MTV).
It really depends on which...
That is correct. The display indicates the highest available range.

Had a chance to try out the system today with temps spontaneously soaring to 90 degrees out of nowhere. Performance was excellent - within about 15 minutes of starting my drive the interior surfaces of the (non insulated) cab were cool to the touch and temps were quite comfortable.
No one...
If this happens to be an A1R then it's likely the MMDC pressure transducer (common problem) but since you say you replaced a Sensor I'm guessing you have the discreet gauges.
leaking from where? It is considered normal for these to release an aerosol from the vent of MIL-PRF-5606 when in operation.
That said it's pretty straightforward. Use a large vise if you have one big enough to put the pump in when disassembling and reassembling. Or could probably use a bar...
These are amazing. See my review in the discussion forum thread:

Beyond like. This is an absolute game changer. This changes everything. It rolls back the cost of driving these to pre-pandemic cost levels. 32% increase in fuel economy. That's absolutely HUGE in the world of fuel economy gains.
Mind = Blown. 🤯
Ok back from the mileage test run.
Conditions were:
53 degrees (F)
Interstate 5 from the Aurora Flying-J Truck Stop RV pump #26 to center of town in Lebanon Oregon, and back. 118 miles round trip.
Both vehicles used the same pump (same ground angle) before and after the test run and both were...
I am on a 112 mile round trip (at the halfway point now eating lunch) with my friends 2003 M1078 A1 following right now. We both filled out tanks at the same pump to the same level and will do so again at the end of the test. His truck is screaming to keep up with me at 56-57 mph and cycling the...
The whole drivetrain, especially the engine, really feels like it's a lot happier not screaming at redline. My radiator fan kicked on once last night and it was much quieter and ran for less than a minute before cycling off. After doing 80 mph on the freeway the hubs were still cold to the...
Installed!
Ok so as expected these hubs are total game changers. With my C7 uprated to 370/931 I honesty don't notice a significant difference in acceleration but the whole experience is smoother without the reduction hubs. If anything I think it's faster off the line but I haven't corrected...
Apple's walled garden software ecosystem and anti right-to-repair practices I find particularly insulting. At least on the PC side you can choose to run whatever software you want including other operating systems and no one is going to disable hardware features or prevent you from using non-OEM...
