Based on what I learned yesterday from studying the transmission TM diagrams (thanks again @gringeltaube ) and the problem you're describing, I'm wondering if the problem might be here:
That shift sleeve and synchro need to be engaged 3rd gear onward. Perhaps it's broken and slipping?
Inspired by a recent thread about a concerning drivetrain noise at 3rd gear and higher, I took a hard look at a diagram out of the maintenance TM for the Spicer 3053A. I am by no means a transmission expert, so this has been a bit of a learning experience. Whoever designed the very first...
PM sent. Turns out I was mistaken about the revenue limit on the Fusion license - it's actually $1000. How they'd know how much you make while using their software as a tool I have no clue!
Here's the personal use link for Autodesk Fusion: https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/personal
I run Autodesk Fusion with a hobbyist license, which Autodesk says is valid for individuals who make less than $100k/yr using the software, or something like that.
If you're interested in getting into it, I created some tutorial videos which you can access in the link provided in my signature...
Autodesk Fusion is my go-to for any CAD work. It reminds me of Inventor from when I used that a long time ago. For more artistic stuff I learned how to use Blender as it's an excellent 3D mesh editor.
If it were my HEMTT and I wanted to do a flush and fluid replacement, I'd probably consult with the local Allison shop to see what they'd put in it. I hate breaking and replacing transmissions, and from what I've read on here any work like that on a HEMTT tends to be more difficult compared to...
I've used a couple heavy chains myself for this. I should get a tire cage though. Looking on Facebook Marketplace right now there are several for sale all within an hour from me for anywhere from $100-$200.
I replaced the vents on my truck last year. Got the best price from armyjeepparts.com. I called them to ask about the vent style and the guy got confused when I mentioned it was for an M35 :ROFLMAO: The M38A1 uses the same vents, maybe the M151 too?
Anyway when I replaced my vents the...
Different math for different things! For my line of work I do a lot of unit conversions. kWh to MMBtu to therms to gal per MMBtu, and across different types of fuel... People deal with energy in a lot of ways!⚡
ANYWAY for the LDT it looks like you need 64 lb/hr. So that would be 9 GPH or...
Perhaps I can help with this and include a math lesson for those who need a refresher :) The answers are in green if that's all you want :p
According to Hometowne Energy, diesel fuel weighs about 7.1 lbs/gal. It seems you need GPH or GPM. I'll start with GPH here since the units in the TM are...
So first, I've never paid any attention to this board before, so this is nice!
Second, what does one have to do to get two of these to talk to each other? I want to get two now! Maybe that'll let me justify getting a pair of M109A3s or something :p
I tried to get the soft top off my cab today. I don't think it's been removed for at least 15 years. The super rope is all rotted away so only the channels and snap-turning thingies are keeping the top on the truck. This thread and the M35 TM I have were helpful!
I'll add some clarification...
And now we know the rest of the story! Thank you for joining the site and I look forward to seeing part 2 of your progress!
Your wife's a good catch there! Mine wants a slantback HMMWV, but it's been a bear convincing her into getting a 5-ton wrecker :ROFLMAO: I guess I'll take what I can get!
If you know what you're doing, you can get a title for a titleless truck. A guy up near me did that for an old 5-ton. But I think it's almost always easier to get something that comes with a title. Otherwise you jump through hoops to make it legal or you're buying a parts truck.
