    M35a3 tire removal from rim

Here's my wheel project thread in case you haven't found it. I hope you find it helpful! https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/m35a3-rim-restoration-and-tire-swap-project-picture-heavy.203727/

    M35a3 tire removal from rim

If you aren't planning on saving the tire, just use a Sawzall on the rim-side side wall and cut it off. Be careful to not cut through the beadlock insert. At that point the rim will lift out of the tire and insert. Remove the turret valve from the rim with a modified socket (if you plan to...

    Just bought a Deuce...

Is that a common setup on the A2 and older trucks? The other old military trucks I've worked on never had a vent line piped through the fill cap on the master cylinder. The A3 is the only deuce I've worked on and it has a remote brake fluid reservoir.

Bought 1992 AM general M1097R1 getting mixed info about Nevada title and registration

Whenever I deal with the DMV, I follow these rules: Don't tell the clerk it's military anything. It might freak them out. Answer only the questions asked. "Yes" or "No" are your best answers if you're able to use them. Provide only the paperwork required. Be nice and patient at the DMV. The...

LAS VEGAS_BRAND NEW M1097R1 owner- Any tips?

Welcome to the hobby! If you're not confident in knowing what you're looking at, I definitely would treat it like any other vehicle you'd buy and take it to someone who knows, like a mechanic or a good friend who knows their way around vehicles. Since owning my truck and in an effort to try...

    Deuce, active service (archive pictures).

A 5-ton named "Dam Yankee"

    Must Have's for New Deuce?

For what you want to do, why not get an LMTV? That would do all the things you need without as much work and probably for the same amount of money needed to do all the things you want to with an old deuce. It's already a 4x4 so you don't even have to worry about bobbing it. Full air brakes...

    M109 body removal lessons learned!

Does anyone know if there are any high-lift jacks available that could support cargo truck beds? I think it would be easier to jack a bed up and then drive the truck out from under it. Or buy a 5-ton wrecker? :p

    Fuel Tank Questions

I believe another option for you is to not replace the electric fuel pump. The truck's IP should be able to suck fuel out of the tank just fine - I remember reading some posts about M35A2 owners who had dead in-tank pumps and didn't know it. None of the A3s were built with in-tank pumps. But...

    Just bought a Deuce...

That looks like a sealed beam-composite lamp adapter to me.

    Just bought a Deuce...

I think the paint job is neat - it reminds me of some of the military Micro Machines from when I was a kid!

    M35A3 Won't Turn Over

If it's the transmission safety switch, I believe you should still hear a click every time you turn the engine start switch. A couple times I've had to shift my truck out of neutral to a different gear then back to neutral to get it to turn over. I think my transmission safety switch might be...

Maybe for something like a C-5? :ROFLMAO:

    Just bought a Deuce...

Quite a few projects start with being ugly! I was fortunate to get my truck from someone who took care of it and gave it a new coat of paint while they had it. It will need another coat at some point in the next few years.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Painted and reinstalled glovebox for the first time in about 2 years - heater core repair will have to wait a bit longer! At least the flow to it is reliably shut off. Next up: Either reinstall wheel valve stone covers or paint gladhand dummy couplings.

CAD model for 3D printed CS6369 twist lock receptacle cover.

Great add-on! It's neat how being able to 3D print stuff helps us and our green iron :) Now I need a little CNC milling machine...

Buffalo MRAP S/N from the first live-action Transformers film

I'm a fan of The Transformers - though not so much the live-action films. I'm more into the old cartoon of the '80s and the comics. But the first live-action Transformer film, released to theaters in 2007, featured a Decepticon character that turned into a Buffalo MRAP. That character is...

    Finally got me a deuce!

Which fitting? My truck's wheels had both cracked elbows and filters.

    Deuce Camo Active Duty

If I get a wrecker I may consider adding more floodlights to it. That's a nice setup they have!
