Deuce retro single WWII G7107 mod project start

Looking at pics of G7107s, it looks like the rear axle is centered in the third bay on the bed, talking about troop seat support upright areas as for bays. The M36 drive shaft worked perfect for that distance and both cross member moves utilized at least some of the factory holes already there.

Deuce retro single WWII G7107 mod project start

I took the main double rear cross member loose (you can see the six holes where it was originally) and moved it forward to be centered around the new axle position to give it clearance for vertical movement and balance of support. The last two of the holes still line up and can be reused.

Deuce retro single WWII G7107 mod project start

I took the cross member off and flipped it over so that the flat side was down and moved it forward to where it could use it to support my hanger bearing.

Deuce retro single WWII G7107 mod project start

The first thing I did was to remove the bed and then the rear walking beam suspension system. I had been planning this for a long time and lucked up and found an M36 rear drive shaft with the hanger bearing assembly a couple of years ago at the GA SS Rally. I think I got it from Pete PCTrans...

Deuce retro single WWII G7107 mod project start

I have had this idea for a long time, and have finally gotten serious about working on it. I want to make one of my Deuces look like a G7107 WWII 2-ton single axle truck. I have seen too many singled out bobbed trucks, but I don't think I have ever seen one singled out and left long.

G-7105 and K-51 Panel van Community - search for owners!

I would like to see what you are talking about, but I don't know how to access your album you are talking about. I have a modern version I think is similar to what you are describing. I am hoping to get it running in time for the GA Rally. It would be ideal to haul stuff, pull a trailer full of...

2018 Georgia Military Vehicle Rally buy-sell-trade

I plan on bringing extra, but at the rate they are selling, I may run out of room to carry more and still bring the stuff I want to sell.

    Trailer mod advice

Oh, and by the way, the wheels do have wires going to them, so I am assuming they have electric brakes on them, remains to be seen if they work or not.

I have about decided to use a set of 5-ton front springs off a M818 I am parting out.

    Trailer mod advice

It does have 15" wheels, but the tires are F rated 900-15's. He said they were for a cowboy flatbed and cost $1K. They are super heavy duty and stiff like they were full of concrete.

new take off fuel tanks I found a source for these new take off 45 gallon diesel fuel tanks. This company mods brand new trucks for a special purpose and the factory tanks are in their way, so they pull them off immediately. They measure 28"wide x 22" deep x 18" tall. $60 each. I can get lots...

    Trailer mod advice

Nothing in particular planned, I like it's versatility. Tilt deck for easy drive on, no ramps or fender wells to worry about. Nice 8' wide deck, so can haul two pallets side by side if necessary. Single axle, so easy to turn without side dragging tires.

    Trailer mod advice

I do plan to replace the axle with the one that goes with whatever suspension kit I put under it. I like the trailer, just want to make it the way I want it.

    Trailer mod advice

Ok, I know I asked and most of you advised against it, but I bought this trailer. In it's current form, it leaves a lot to be desired, but I think it has the potential to be my new favorite trailer with a few changes. It has no suspension at all, zero, zip, none. I want to add a set of springs...

One of them has already been spoken for, but you can have the other one, yes Multifuel. The gasser NOS ones are identical, but have the outlets on the opposite side, you could probably have them moved and resoldered. Derek
