What did you do to your deuce this week?

I just googled it and tried a few different sites until I found one that had them available. First one I tried refunded me because it said it was available and took my money but then listed it out of stock. It wasn't super easy to find I can tell your that!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Swapping out head gaskets on mine now. Was leaking oil really bad, would leak around a gallon per week and that's driving it three to four times around 120-140 miles/week. With the heads off, there was lots of build up around the injector nozzles, but the pistons looked great, the cylinder...

Batteries, Charging, and using a Winch question.

In the future, you may want to work that winch for a few minutes and then test the new battery. If it's draining that battery, causing similar issues, I would look into a 24v winch. Depending on the style of the motor in your current winch and the gearing, there are 24v motors you can buy and...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2024 - May VOTE HERE!

Since I had a front tire pop, luckily in my driveway just as I pulled in, lol, figured it be a good time to just get it over with and do the head gasket and all new hoses, fuel lines, oil pressure sending unit and gauge, and get all that oil cleaned off of her. The oil leak from the head was...

Batteries Blew Up & Caused A Fire

Yeah, seems like these trucks really don't like Chinese electronics! I had a battery blow up from a cheapo equalizer that shorted out and caused all kinds of issues. Luckily the damage doesn't look too bad, it could have been a lot worse. Just FYI, you can't nickname your truck "Crispy", it's...

    Combat Rim O-Ring Sizes

So I'm having issues finding the right o-rings, the Hutchinson 50116 style. The tire shop I go to say they can't get those. Any one as of recently have any luck? I might do that stuff gringle mentioned, but I'd like to know I have new and the correct o-rings for future use.

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2024 - March VOTE HERE!

That's probably what happened. I didn't notice any odors, it was pretty windy out too, so maybe that's why I didn't smell anything.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

That looks good. I bet performs much better too. I left the pneumatic wipers on mine but replaced the wiper arms with ANCO and ANCO wiper blades, so much better than the stock version. Only con, need to turn the air way up to get speed on the wipers as the new arms and blades have a lot more...

Not getting 24v at the batteries

Sounded like a gunshot and vibrated the whole truck when it exploded.

Not getting 24v at the batteries

Like Mullaney said, but mine has wires that ran from the (-) and (+) with a wire that connects to the ground on one of the batteries so it can transfer energy to whichever battery has a lower voltage to equalize them or keep them balanced. Apparently the only thing weaker than an electrical...

Not getting 24v at the batteries

Same here, but it's just to keep the batteries at the same energy levels since the first one in the series is typically overcharged. I think I'll just switch the batteries around once a month or so for now on until I find a quality unit. As far as accessories go, I only have auxillary lighting...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2024 - March VOTE HERE!

My deuce "Crispy" is trying to live up to its name, yesterday after work, I started up the deuce and about three minutes later, I hear this "sssssss" sound. Wasn't sure if it was air or what... nope, came a loud bang, sounded like a shotgun blast going off in the cab, the floor on the passenger...

    Cooper Bussmann Battery equalizer

Not trying to hijack the thread, but what is the better equalizer y'all run that works without having issues? I had some off brand one from eBay and it shorted out causing my battery to explode and a major short.

Not getting 24v at the batteries

I'll add, if you ever decide to add a battery equalizer, do not use Amazon or a cheap one... I learned my lesson, bought a cheap one off Fleabay and it shorted out causing one of my batteries to explode and a major short that burned bout every light on the truck as well as my temperature, oil...

Will start only with a squirt of starting fluid. Runs great once started.

That may be, I just know every once in a while I get full power back and it runs great, then goes back to lagging again, it's not bad bad, but you can tell there's a power loss there.

Will start only with a squirt of starting fluid. Runs great once started.

I'm starting to have these issues as well. However, mine does this if I run more diesel/gas than I do wmo. Too much gas and it won't start at all unless it gets lots of either and it needs to rev over 1200rpm to keep from stalling out. Yet it will start and idle at 700 rpm with wmo. I know...
