    NHC250 M934 Coolant Leak

Love the "Chinesium". Actually, a thin metal heater core should radiate a ton of heat, more than an old designed thick one. I know it is not the tough guy thing to do, and especially with these trucks, but it would probably pump out more heat. The low velocity blower fan could use a...

Who makes a Jacobs-type engine brake for the 250 Cummins?

“Jake” engine compression brake is a hydraulic teeter-totter. It uses the valve actuation of one cylinder as a hydraulic pump to burp another cylinder’s exhaust valves open momentarily at the top of its compression stroke. This prevents that cylinder from acting like an air spring. It...

    Simp's M923 Big Cam Repower

Heck yeah, turn it up. Same with the air governor. 152psi is not enough (gauge pic). :)

M939 Jake Brake and Allison Questions

Will is a bad a$$. No brake pads in the trans, but you probably mean clutch discs. You can compression brake with an unlocked converter, it is just not as effective, but will still supply some additional braking power. Yes, converter locks up partially through 2nd gear, and stays that...

    Simp's M923 Big Cam Repower

Does that mean you have to drive backwards?

M927 as a Food Truck? Looking for advice

Frame rail height is pretty high, and even more-so if you go to single tires. Possibly you can make that work given the looks of your custom config box w/steps. Unicorn to expect 100k miles out of tires, but they are not all that expensive to replace. What are we making? Tacos, pizza, corn-dogs?

    M932A2 Big Fuel Filter Questions

Agree with both. Carry a spare small spinner (ha ha), and the large frame one is sized so it never has to be changed again when using known good fuel.

Which 5 TON is the best option for a toy?

I’m with sand’s opinion on off-roading. Have a winch truck and bring friends with winch trucks. Not or sure if there is a worth category in this, but M939’s have seemingly doubled in value across a 5 year window, though not sure that will stay, drop, or continue to rise.

    8.3 belt tensioner problems

If the pin is correct as mentioned, then they may have used the wrong belt (too long), they may have it routed incorrectly, or they may be using an accessory with non-stock pulley diameter or placement, such as an aftermarket alternator.

Which 5 TON is the best option for a toy?

I don’t like the cab-over look, and wanted top freeway speed. My M925a2 does 67mph all day long, 100% stock. Love the winch, CTIS, and turbo. Correct, turning radius licks. Oh well. It’s not a Honda Civic. Fun to hear other stories though.

    Utilizing M925 stock hydraulics

I will. Not going to be cheap, but it is something I have wanted to do since I got the truck.

    Utilizing M925 stock hydraulics

I am also totally on board with the rear hydro winch. Bought one, have not installed yet. Will do once dump hoist goes on. Plan to trash the mechanical spool valve in exchange for 24vdc solenoid valves so I can stand out front of the truck and wind the winch up myself, rather than it being a...

    8.3L Cummins from an excavator

I’d like to have one, maybe 8.9L version, hooked to a 13 speed Roadranger, with Jakes and a polished turbo compressor housing. That be fly.

    8.3L Cummins from an excavator

How much are they asking for the engine? Don’t be one-sided and just take. Nobody’s going to steal it from you. I already have one homeless one. Ha!

    8.3L Cummins from an excavator

Lots of choices @ $5k, mine is less. How much are they asking for that engine, and can they demo it to run before purchase?

    8.3L Cummins from an excavator

Not sure. I just dabble in clean good running used ones.

    8.3L Cummins from an excavator

OK. That’s an EFI engine, known as an ISC if 8.3L. They start and run great, and are self contained. I am preparing to do the same. Was the excavator 24 volt? Likely. ECM on it is selectable between 12v and 24v. Electric lift pump on it would need to be switched to 24v if it is 12v, or run...

    8.3L Cummins from an excavator

Not enough info given to answer your question. Pics of the engine and description of what remains in/of the truck would help.
