    Ingersoll Rand Gyro-Flo 125

Mine dates around 1956. Starter should be easy to find. Try ebay or your local Lincoln Welder service center. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?103149-Ingersoll-Rand-Gyro-Flo-air-compressor-lubrication-info-wanted&highlight= edit- my starter is 12V, charging is a modern Delcotron...

What did you do to your trailer today.

Lazy way of unloading. International Harvester circa 1970. Weight is about 4700 lbs. Has factory ROP and 1000 lb counterweight. Crude suspension (sides rotate on trunnion). Hydro-static is complex and rather poorly designed. Wisconsin VH4D puts out 30 HP. Scary to operate with few safety...

Source found for Commando chevron tires

Link says the weight for the 21" tire is 357#. The 20" V-100 wheel w/o ring is exactly 100#. The lock ring is 25#. Tube and flap- I dunno, but seems like the total wheel w/run flat is just under 500#. Times 4 means that one ton of the [V100] trucks ~7 ton weight is from its wheels, or about 14%...

Filler caps are supposed to be non-vented. Each tank has a vent and a pressure relief valve on the roof.

    shaving tire flat spots

Apparently I have written a lot of dumb stuff in the past. I have done some shaving under vehicle power. Fewer passes because it is harder to make the adjustments to follow the contour. Moving motor on radial arm can be useful but often I had to move whole saw, scary with tire turning under...

    shaving tire flat spots

Suggest you drive before shaving and make sure you have a problem. Flat spots don't seem to cause as much problems as out of round. Out of round have feedback at certain speeds that really magnify the effect. On my 5 ton it was 40mph. Get the saw ridged as possible. The motor way out on the end...

    shaving tire flat spots

I had a truck tire recapper do a few. They are no longer in business. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?72422-Bounce-bounce&p=903870&viewfull=1#post903870 Someone here posted a system with a radial arm saw on a tool box. I don't remember who. Maybe they will chime in with the photo or...

    Catastrophic Failures

No surprise we'd get something new from someone with a top fuel avatar. Is it wrong of me to enjoy this stuff? After all it is the suffering of others. My mechanic origin is based on flying cast iron. Mid 60's when is I was 6 or 7 the old man retired an old 2 stroke lawn mower, gave me some...

    crash pads

Greetings, I have been looking for crash pad material for interior side walls. It is a 3/16", black, foam with a durable textured skin. The factory replacement stuff is similar but has a slightly different texture. Material like Volara doesn't have the skin and can be torn with a fingernail. The...

Ingersoll Rand Gyro-Flo air compressor, lubrication info wanted.

Update- My compressor has been great. No idea how the oil separator works but the air is always perfectly clean. I did bore it out 040. It ran really nice w/ no smoke but there was some metal in the oil so went in for a look see. Turns out rain water would leak down the ex stack and get into the...

Got pulled over today. Smoke Issue

Other ideas, some unlikely (and not necessarily MV)- Oil level too high, bad turbo shaft seal(s), clogged crankcase vent, clogged or undersized turbo oil drain, turbo drain that discharges below the oil level (ex, bad design, bad oil full of water and foaming and expanding), worn rings or...
