I try to hold hope for my fellow man. Local parts supplier made note in their system about vehicle fitment. I'd purchased non-traditional spark plugs, I was cautious enough to compare with the removed part and check clearance. Would have made contact ( destructive ) with the piston. Showed them...
Make sure to get decent tools. I've had times where I 'got by' with cheap tool i thought i would only use one time. But having a good tool, for a project that can easily go sideways, helps everything go smooth.
....And i never use the tool for "just this one job".......it always gets used again...
Having driven both, when they both are running PROPERLY ( a big IF, lol ) the turbo would get up to speed sooner. At times it 'felt' like it would handle a trailer and load with more confidence. BOTH handle a world better than the straight 6 gas job ( ours was a 52 automatic ).
I am a big fan...
BUMPING this thread. Curious for an update. I'm in western NY, did have some issues with the registration, but certainly not what you went though. I happened to bring a VIN scratch, bill of sale, transferable registration ( from another state ). The insurance information was the easy part.
When my Deuce was on the road, I went through Progressive. I registered as farm vehicle, NOT historic. I had to get DOT numbers though. I did not feel insurance was too bad ( $1000/ yr increase with $225K LL ). But I was limited to a distance (25 miles) from site, and a few other rules. Don't...
Just BUMPING this thread. Curious if all is still good. Does MI have you get DOT numbers when you try to register?
Here in NY, the insurance is the easy part.
Cheers
I believe they use ATF Dexron VI ( type 4 ). In applications using Dexron III ( type 3 ), the type 4 is backwards compatible. Meaning if you have several vehicles using Type 3 AND Type 4, you can buy Type 4 and use in ALL the vehicles.
The Dexron VI is about $10 more for 5 quarts. Not a bad...
Thank you for the follow up!
What are all the stand-offs? What rivets did you use? To establish the curved corners did you wrap around and clap or were you able to pre-bend / roll the metal?
Unforeseen challenges?
Thank you again.
Introduction post from Western NY by Rochester. Building up my post counter.
LONG time lurker. I've been thankful and relied heavily on this group for repairing my 68 Deuce.
I try to message or give thanks for advice and direction, especially with the fuel system ( The injection pump was a bit...
Welcome to the Site. I'm Western NY also. Long time lurker, newer member. I should follow suit and make an introduction post to get my count up.
Cheers Sir. Update on the over landing trailer.
Love the hard top fabrication. I'm looking for alternatives for my M35.
Any advice or details on the process? Any particular challenges you had to over comes?
Any thoughts or advice from ANYONE is appreciated.
Newer member, sorry if this in a bad post
Thanks for the reply!
Any issues running mixed fuel product ( UEO, Vegetable Oil ) with the 2-port injectors? If it inherently promotes more complete combustion and puts less stress on the pistons, I may move forward with it.
Thank you again. I try not to resort to universal knowlege when...
Newer member giving a bump to this thread.
I'm in the process of doing a LOT of work and addressing 10 years of neglect to a 68 Non-turbo C.
How have these injectors worked for anyone?
Improvement over stock?
Any issues using new parts with mixed fuel types?
Thank you in advance for any...
