    FMTV brake canister diaphragm replacement.

No did not apply any glue. I noticed that as well. Seemed redundant so I didn't bother.

    Flags on LMTV procedure

Look to how the presidential motorcades do it. And here's one resource: https://www.carrot-top.com/blog/the-correct-way-of-displaying-american-flags-on-all-types-of-vehicles?srsltid=AfmBOopfydV91K5s-nNJQtheZPbtJw82r63vFuxvYJlPx0Rvb2uiyOrn I'm not aware of any TM's that have that information...

    Odd voltage spike issue

What year is this truck? Which alternator? Which voltage regulator? Does the regulator go into OVCO? Flashing red LED? Read through my thread on my over-voltage problem. Check all your connections at the LBCD (if you have one) and check for leaking capacitors...

    Cheap CTIS diaphrams

Those guys have really good pricing on lots of stuff actually. FMTV Brake Shoe kit with springs: https://www.pgttruckparts.com/MPS4285-Rockwell-Mps-Kit-brake-parts-p/2643-mps4285.htm I've found quite a few items they have the best pricing online that I've seen.

    Looking to Purchase an LMTV

Yep. I'm three years in and I'm still doing maintenance and upgrades. But my confidence level in my truck is higher than ever with 23k miles of daily driving on it. It is hard to think of ANY rubber parts I haven't replaced or aren't on my list for replacement. And mine is a 2008 so even the A1R...

Dealing with issues due to half-assed CTIS engineering.

Y Yeah that's me. I'm doing the hose kits.

    Looking to Purchase an LMTV

Better to start with questions - I rather prefer to conduct this sort of discussion as an interview to determine if YOU are a candidate to properly own an FMTV. Any of the various models of military surplus trucks (FMTV and beyond) can and do work well for the *right* owner. 1. What is your...

Dealing with issues due to half-assed CTIS engineering.

100% agree. Sadly though..... No one would pay the price I would be asking if I really did go through a truck the way I have with my own personal truck. Even Acela ignores things I have felt the need to address. And then I wouldn't even consider selling it till I put 5,000 miles on it personally...

M1078 airline junction leak - what is it?

Don't need to replace the line for a pinhole. Just get a push to connect coupler, cut the 1/4" out with the pinhole and jam it back together. 5 minutes if that. 🤷‍♂️ DOT plastic air line and PTC fittings are brilliant. They started using them on the A1R and it makes servicing so much easier.

M1078 airline junction leak - what is it?

Replace every check valve. Not worth even taking them apart to inspect. Cheap Haldex COTS parts.

M1078 airline junction leak - what is it?

Huh. Completely deleted at some point. My A1R doesn't even have that bracket. 🤷‍♂️

Top 5 fixes to your LMTV

Forget the 3.07 gears. Waste of time - get ECO hubs. The 3116 is getting really old and tough to find parts for. You can upgrade to the 290 HP fueling parts, and swap over to the 3126/C7 turbocharger - the Borg Warner S300. Should get you up to about 300 HP. I wouldn't take the 3116 truck...

Dealing with issues due to half-assed CTIS engineering.

MME is definitely one of the worst examples of a "surplus scalper". Can't imagine they have many return customers for their trucks and I'm sure they are using the same Chinese crap on those that they are selling on their website. Our trucks have enough problems from age and Army abuse without...

Dealing with issues due to half-assed CTIS engineering.

Plenty of Meritor NOS units on eBay. The ones the military purchases now use the bolts with the Nord Locks and the small head that snaps off at the proper torque.

Dealing with issues due to half-assed CTIS engineering.

Wow! I had no idea they were having the wheel valves reproduced. That's scandalous. Shame. The new version from Dana no longer use that stupid chunky elbow at the valve stem that's such a pain.....

    Hurricane Helena LMTV Flooded

NO! It's NOT a plug. It's an open breather port. If the water was over that point then the transmission is likely FULL of water. That vent is where the transmission will puke out oil if it is overfilled. You will likely ruin the transmission if you even start the engine with it full of water...

    Hurricane Helena LMTV Flooded

The transmission body has a breather that is located more or less right below the PPD/LBCD behind the spare tire carrier. It's easiest to access with the spare tire lowered. It is NOT extended to the height of the front hub/axle and bell-housing breathers since it's screwed directly into the...

    Hurricane Helena LMTV Flooded

Change all the fluids. Alternator should be fine. That's the whole point of the Niehoff brushless design - it's dust/water proof since it is completely sealed and submersible. Clean all the connections of salt water and residue of course.

    Dana Diagnostic tool software

That is typically a result of the breather on the axle tube being plugged up. Have you cleaned and flow tested all the front hub and axle tube breaher lines and the various junctions behind the frame rails, etc? All of them tee together and head up behind the cab.
