    Dual Circuit Brake Engineering Thread

My brake system shipped out today from California. He made a few last minute changes. I will post more when I receive it.

    LT. Dan M35a2 Modification Thread

Dan, when I bought my deuce in Georgia the water temp gauge pegged a few miles after the initial purchase. I didn't tell my wife (who was driving our truck behind me). I stopped at the nearest gas station and I stopped to fill up with diesel. The radiator wasn't that hot, no hissing, no...

    2014 LA Rally Dates

See you Saturday, Tim. My deuce isn't road worthy yet.

    LT. Dan M35a2 Modification Thread

The radiator fill cap should be the highest point in your cooling system in order to purge the air out. I'm guessing that hose sticking up behind the alternator is for a coolant filter or heater? Why couldn't you turn the valve down and have it feed out the bottom? There might be air trapped...

Give a "tooo000OOOT!" for theft deterrence.

I have a few closed-circuit video cameras with a 24 hour feed on my truck and the rest of my house. The system has a DVR that can record on a continuous 30 day loop. I can check the feed from my iPhone or the internet from anywhere. Like others have said if the thief wants to steal your pride...

I bet when you finish the digital camo you'll be better at the game Tetris. :D

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Cut/bent 1/2" 0.035 stainless tubing for my fuel supply line. Cut/bent 3/8" 0.035 stainless tubing for my vent line. Scuffed/painted the Cummins 6bt valve covers. Test fit the factory deuce airbox and it fits over the Cummins turbo. I need a 90 degree 4" elbow to mate up to the turbo inlet...

    New Navy Destroyer

This thread is so much more enjoyable to read than one that is filled with words like, "Read the TM, closed for political reasons, re-post, blah blah". Thanks a bunch for the wealth of knowledge put into this thread. I've learned quite a bit in reading it.

Yes. I told him what brake calipers I was using, and the vehicle it was going on. I told him the current weight of the deuce and a GVWR of 20,000 lbs. That helps them size the master cylinder bore and size of reservoir. I will have more information in a week or so.

The company is Power Brake Service, http://powerbrakeservice.net. I'm waiting for them to send me an invoice so I know what they put together for my application. When I know more I will post again.

hints to remove and torque to install m35 temp sending unit

I used a long breaker bar and a deep socket to remove my temp sender. If you don't have that you can use a box end wrench and double up on the open end with another box end wrench for more leverage. You could remove the radiator cap while cold, crank the engine, and get it up to temperature...

VA DOT Military Vehicles and HOAs "Junk Vehicles"

I researched my neighborhood before moving in. The HOA dissolved after the developer finished the subdivision. No one to police restrictions now. But, all of the lots are developed so we know that there won't be any trailers put in next to our houses. Zoning laws (or the lack of) suck around...

    Dual Circuit Brake Engineering Thread

I just ordered a complete Hydroboost setup from a company in California. Yeah it's pricey at $1140 shipped, but it's brand new parts that include everything I need to eliminate the air over hydraulic braking system on my deuce. It is a split hydraulic system powered by my power steering pump. I...

    What's you favorite upgrade?

Power steering followed by F550 disc brakes. Soon to be at the top of that list is Cummins 6BT + Allison 545 combo followed by Hydroboost brakes setup (then power steering and F550 brakes).

    Driveline Bolts

I went with a fine thread Grade 8 bolt/nut and 2 Nord-Lock washers for each driveline bolt. Nothing compares to them (double nut, nyloc, binx, lock washer, etc). Everything else will loosen over time. They don't. http://www.nord-lock.com/products/wedge-locking/washers/introduction/

HanksDeuce: 8" Lift, Bobbed, External Cage, A/C and more Project!

Great weather today so I decided to continue my engine swap. Here is another shot of the passenger side bellhousing mount that was finished last week. Tons of room in the engine bay. Note the surface rust on the bellhousing mount from a few days in Louisiana humidity (even with the hood...

    bobbing a deuce

Wow, Canadians don't type "eh" at the end of every sentence. :D Good luck on finding a MLVW. They have an auto transmission, singled out wheels/tires, and ether start on them (I think). That makes 'em a little better than our M35A2s IMHO.

HanksDeuce: 8" Lift, Bobbed, External Cage, A/C and more Project!

My goal is to make it a daily driver for commuting to work (20 miles round trip). Parades will be much easier with the automatic transmission because I won't have to push the clutch and brake pedals in each time a youngster jumps out in front for that special piece of candy that caught their...
