    Wiring Question on M1165

So for $150 bucks this orion unit doesn’t seems so bad. I found the below video of a guy installing one on a humvee. But it doesn’t seem to cut off with the ignition. You are saying there’s a built in relay so that it’ll cut off with the switch?

    Wiring Question on M1165

This is all good news. A typical car stereo is 10-12 amps max. That was the only other system I was planning to run. I would be fine adding one of those Orion converters if it prevents a damaged battery (or fire) down the road. I’d rather do it right, once. But if you all say that’s...

    Wiring Question on M1165

Well eventually I plan to put a radio in, which would need to turn off. With windows if they were all being put up at once, and hit the top and loaded out, you sure that’s ok? 52amps seams ridiculous to me as entire houses have 100 amp panels, but maybe it’s a volts thing- electricity...

    Wiring Question on M1165

Ok. I checked around and it seems that 13 amps is a good ballpark for power window motors. That’s each. So all four at the same time could be 52 amps.

    Wiring Question on M1165

Ok I’m on the right track, I just can’t figure the wrong diagrams on these relays. The one at this link has two good diagrams in the pictures ...

    Wiring Question on M1165

I’ll stop at O’reilys or autozone and hopefully one of the people there can help me get the right parts and maybe even walk me through the wiring. But if I understand right, I will take power off the ignition switch (which is 24v) , put an inline fuse in, then connect to a 24v relay (which...

    Wiring Question on M1165

Thank you, what you say makes sense about the 14v lead on the alternator. The rest of what you said is way over my head unfortunately. I don’t know what a relay, coil, diode or EMP means. Is there a diagram out there that would make sense of it?

    Wiring Question on M1165

I have a question about keyed accessories that are 12v. Since the starter is 24v you can’t run 12v through the off-run-start ignition correct? So, would a smart way to run 12v stuff, that turns off with the truck, be to run a power supply straight off the dual voltage regulator? Then there...

    Unknown Part M1165 A1

I have those shelves on mine, I tried to take them off for paint but wasn’t able to remove them. Let me know if anyone has some tips lol

    Hood hook seals

The seals around my air lift hooks don’t line up correctly. Is this common? The hood itself looks like it’s on right, only that the rubber is off. I’ve looked at new rubber and they don’t appear to have any play in their mounting...

    Air conditioning

If I remove the rear head unit from the backseat, just temporarily, do I risk ruining anything? As far as I can tell it’s two hoses and the power.

    Air conditioning

I have not really looked at any of it. And my knowledge of AC systems is about zero. I was searching for the TM first. But, the box in the back seat, there’s one black hose connected, and another opaque hose that is missing a hose clamp and should be connected to an elbow. And the fan...

    Air conditioning

Is there a diagnostic chart in a TM for the ECV style AC system? Specifically the rear AC units like in the 1165 or 1151? The rear unit doesn’t work at all, and the fan for the front unit blows air but not cold air. Lastly, do these units use common enough parts where any old auto shop...

Hope all is well Dutchess County New York

For any NYers who have had their truck inspected… did you have any trouble with the state smog tests? If the motor is exempted I’d imagine it would fail? Older trucks might be exempted from the testing due to age, but newer ones would need to pass , right?

Register it through the mail in VT. Avoid the NYS yearly inspection hassle and smog testing that may become an issue

Why won’t my doghouse clip closed

I broke the one spring trying to clip it in. So I replaced it. But it still doesn’t work.

Why won’t my doghouse clip closed

My top right doghouse clip doesn’t work and never has. I’ve fixed it and jimmy’d it and replaced the spring clip think but it just doesn’t work. It’s like it’s a half inch short or something? What gives? Is there some super secret secret to getting it to work? Any suggestions other than the...

For those who have painted their trucks with bedliner.

I plan to use Durabak on my interior as they have a smooth option without texture. If it goes well I will use it on the exterior too. If not, I can get raptor liner in 685 desert tan on Amazon. Problem will be ordering enough, but not too much. So if anyone can give me an idea on quantities...
