Not all 8x6.5 hubs/hub openings are the same....earlier GM 8-lugs used smaller hub openings than Ford & Dodge. You can fit older Ford/Dodge 8x6.5 wheels on GM 8x6.5 hubs, but cannot fit older GM 8x6.5 wheels onto Ford/Dodge 8x6.5 hubs.
HMWWV wheels are GM pattern, BTW...I know a couple of guys...
I'd suggest contacting the mud boggers throughout the South, and/or monster truck crews. They would have the knowledge & experience with the high-horsepower drivetrains and whatnot. One thing to note is that with the amount of HP & torque you are looking at, you might want to think about a...
Several radar units and different types of missile launchers:
There were over a dozen different AA guns, lots of SAMs, HIND & Mi-8 helicopters, communications vans, mobile fire-control systems, and much more in the outdoor display, but these photos were the only ones I had time to...
A good selection of Soviet armor and armored vehicles were on display, and visitors were encouraged to crawl on & in them.
The row is headed by a nice T-34/85:
PT-76 light tank:
A burned-out T-55 (with what appears to be M1 Abrams tracks, minus rubber pads):
T-62:
T-72...
A large amount of the equipment on display was Soviet in origin, as the intention of the Petting Zoo is to familiarize Air Force pilots & others with the full looks and capabilities of equipment that most of our opponents are armed with.
Here's a GAZ-69 light truck:

I never knew Nellis AFB had a "petting zoo!" Recently I got to go on a guided tour of areas of the base I've never been able to see before, including walking the flightline and getting up close & personal with various aircraft flown out of the base. At the end of the tour, we were asked if we...
Amazingly, in just a matter of a few hours, the new owner got a settlement from GP and they released it back to him...we were hoping to drive it onto my trailer, but that's what I have a winch for.
Apparently the GP folks don't have a forklift at Davis-Monthan, and the DLA folks wanted...
What most people don't realize is the importance of looking ahead to take advantage of the power of their peripheral vision...the peripheral vision shows you everything between you & where your eyes are looking, most importantly it shows you where it's safe to go (open lanes, where a vehicle...
I remove the nozzles & go to local home-improvement store to pick up appropriate-sized bushings & threaded PVC fittings...then use clear vinyl hose with screw-on caps (insert bushings with threaded ends) for fast, easy, spill-proof fillups.
You can also add manual Schrader valves for venting...
I purchased a Bosch 130-amp 24V alternator (J180-style), as well as the new short engine mounting bracket, and installed them on my M931A2. I added an additional 2-gauge charge wire to the "B+" terminal on the starter (and traced wires back to battery box to ensure proper hookup), and...
Also check return lines in tank; mine were rubber & swollen/disintegrating to the point that they were choked shut. I had some solid tubing brazed onto 90-degree return elbows, problem solved. I had same problem as you, and did same repairs you did, but problem still persisted...until I...
