Usually you need to support the weight of whatever the cylinder is holding and then push the pins out. If the arm is not supported the pins won't push out freely.
I just got my new to me 6.5 started today. I had a questionable injection pump and it smoked and knocked terribly. I put a known good pump on it and it still had a knock that I isolated to cylinder 5 by cracking injector lines. By the time I isolated it,.the injector started firing correctly and...
Don't forget the throttle shaft seal. This really is the only part that actually wears out on the current generation Stanadyne pumps. Your engine will start right away but die as soon as you drive 50 feet down the road.
I just bought the tool to do the inner axle seals on the front. I had to disassemble the right side of the axle to get my engine in and out and figure the diff needs some seals too.
I did have a kingpin fail some time back and it damaged the lockout on the hub. If anybody has Spicer lockouts I...
It's a runner. Had a terrible knock for a moment, cylinder 5 was being finicky. I couldn't find OEM rod bearings, only Taiwan, made me nervous. It cleared up. Must have been an injector. It was an eBay engine and I didn't want to burn money on injectors. New engine in new Energy Suspension...
In case anybody is wondering they are called Tube-O fittings and have a 3/4-16 thread. They are available in Parker 26 series fittings. Make sure to have your divorce papers signed before you buy the hoses because your wife is going to kill you.
The 60G glow plugs use a Packard 56 type terminal if you want to cut your existing terminals off.

You can use the plastic housings if you want. Maybe a sleeve of silicone rubber would be better. The last generation of 6.5 had porcelain...
The turbo valve cover has a mesh type oil mist separator built in to it. I suggest getting the correct 6.5 valve cover and CDR valve . Pipe it in between the air filter and turbo inlet. The air filter creates a pressure drop which provides vacuum on the crankcase.
Use the non-vented oil cap...
0.003 is a lot to remove by hone. That would typically require boring first.
It is also imperative that the bore centerlines are matched which is why the honing bar is used. The amount removed from the caps for bearing bore resizing is trivial in your case. The effect on the roundness of the...
It's fine, the speeds are low. The bearings are only a few inches in diameter and the speeds are in the hundreds of rpm. An example of where you shouldn't use red n tacky is the pilot bearing for a clutch or driveshaft splines.
Everybody likes what they're used to and if you like Lucas their...
Here is the viscosity chart.

What most of us don't realize is that greases have many different oil viscosities even within the same #2 thickness. All automotive greases from the parts store are ISO 220 base oil viscosity...
I use this manual when trying to explain bearing pack. It's concise and it's the only manual that clearly explains the base oil viscosity of the grease which is darned important.

Shoot, they cut the part...
My spindles are worn with a step but I'm not about to spend the money to fix that (maybe I should because parts are getting more and more rare). Whatever, they work fine today and some better quality grease will keep them working that way for long time.
It's the isocyanates that are most dangerous in polyurethane paints. They stick instantly to wet surfaces such as your eye balls and the insides of your lungs.
If the bearing bore is too small you simply hone it on the line hone machine. You won't touch the rear seal bore. That goes out of round when you mill the caps to reduce the bore diameter.
You can jump with a pair of jump packs or you can also use one jump pack and another 12v vehicle. Same with two jump packs, put each source on a battery.
Caterpillar DEAC is the only conventional coolant that is still readily available that I am aware of. Caterpillar SCA can be used with straight water if you don't need antifreeze. Mix at 16:1.
Caterpillar ELC is an extended life coolant with nitrites. Sometimes the only way you can figure these...
