    World War II Trailer

Are you sure that is an original military trailer? Perhaps someone built another body on a military frame. Or perhaps the only military part on it are the axles and wheels. I've never seen a mil trailer like that one before.

Fall 2013 Rausch Creek PA rally - what weekend?

Camp in the ass end of your truck, ask around and maybe some other guys have spare gear you can borrow for the event. Deuces on the highway are fine, average about 50mph. The engine roars around 2300 rpm the whole way, and you slow down on the hills, depending how steep the hills are. Cars...

    Got my AN/GRC142 RTTY home

Shelters are not surplussed out any longer complete with all the radios, not since the 1990s at least. Good find, it's been around a while waiting for a good home!

value of restored original MB vs. restored MB with repro body

Got into a conversation on another site about the value of old WWII Jeeps. Now, I know price varies all over the place, but this guy REALLY low-balled what I thought a vehicle would be worth. I understand original WWII jeeps are worth more than a repro. What, in your opinion, would be the...

Fall 2013 Rausch Creek PA rally - what weekend?

We'll keep this poll up for another week or so, then we'll make the decision what weekend. Looks like the last two weekends are a tie, but the overwhelming number of people don't care when it will be, they are going regardless.

Fall 2013 Rausch Creek PA rally - what weekend?

To be honest, most of the trails that the big trucks can fit on are green trails, so you'll be fine. There are some tighter ones that are green too, but suffice to say that the trails that would cause a beginner problems at RC are too small and narrow to even try fitting down.

Fall 2013 Rausch Creek PA rally - what weekend?

Less than 3 months to go, anyone else want to provide some input into the weekend?

Scrap it or keep it? 1953 m135

Radiation meters at a scrapyard? The only meter that I have seen when I pull in with a load of steel is the scale.

    military earthmoving equipment owners?

A couple YouTube videos of the Tournadozer in action, including one factory film... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIlssUFEo04 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsQa_TzmhlY

    military earthmoving equipment owners?

Saw this on eBay a few days ago - no link because that's against the rules, but only the pics is what I need. This is a military C-model Tournadozer, made by Le Tourneau in 1956. Almost looks silly, like a kids' toy, but back in the 1950s it was a serious earthmoving machine. In a world of...

large military radio collection on island in WI - amazing!

Ditto that! I don't believe this guy has all of them rigged up to work at a moments notice. However, you can bet that he knows every circuit in those rigs with his eyes shut!

large military radio collection on island in WI - amazing!

Saw this while cruising around for ham radio information. Not everything he has is military in nature, but take a look at the pics, you have to see the amount of military radio gear he has saved up, and on display in his hamshack (more like a ham MUSEUM)! Very cool.... http://www.qrz.com/db/w9evt

A good place to get parts for my MB

Try rigidsteel.com, I have used them before for some Jeep parts for an old CJ-3A I had. They carry LOTS of parts for jeeps from WWII through present, including the full-size jeeps and Cherokees. You can almost build an entire flat-fender jeep with all the parts they carry.

    First M715

SBC conversions are common in the M715, but SBC conversions are common in everything out there, mainly due to parts availability. If your M715 can get running with minimal effort, keep it. It's a good engine as long as it's in good order, if it ever needs a rebuild, THEN you can chuck it and...

    First M715

Very cool save, and a great price! My first MV project was a M725 ambulance version of the M715. It was in a lot worse shape than yours, and have a lot more work to do to get it running. You bought yours cheap, but in the right shape. Keep us informed with pics as your project comes along!

Va Rally at Graves Mountain (Labor Day Weekend) 2013

I plan to be there again as usual - depends on the work situation what days, however. Recently interviewed for a new position, the job is cool but the hours are very random, almost an on-call situation. Might affect the days I can attend.

    M1061A1 ...Recovered

I owned two - they are very useful, but a deuce is the minimum you want to haul it with, as far as military trucks go. (Stretch hauled it home with a 3/4-ton pickup, but I think he was borderline nuts). Going up and down hills EMPTY on I-95 in northern VA, slowed the deuce down to about 25 on...

What he said. There are lots of guys here who could use the parts for their own build. Torch what's leftover.

    M123a1c rarity

I wouldn't say the M123 series, any variant of it, was rare, in the sense that few were made. However, as most of them were made in the 1950s thru the early 1970s, that would make the youngest ones about 40 years old. They are too big for most to own, certainly not a daily driver. Most, when...
