The EGT is pre-turbine in the exhaust manifold. I need to read the manual further. I'm not following the procedure you speak of (and has been mentioned before). Do I apply the brakes while driving down the road and hold the RPM at 2400? Things get busy at 2400 in 4th with 53's.
:tank:
Well, it wasn't meant to be at the moment. I got her down to 3200 lbs on the rear axle. At the moment I refuse to swap the 53's. Sorry to let you guys down. Painting the deuce is more important this week.
Since you are probably still a teenager (based on your signature file), and we all know every teenager has a smartphone, how about taking a few pictures and posting them up for us to look at? We could look at the dash and the battery box and probably tell you what the problem is. Maybe...
Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder with that one. :D Good luck getting her prepped and painted soon. I'm in the same boat. My deuce looks like Sanford & Son owned it!
This time I'm bumping the thread to the top to check on something...
What's the most boost pressure you guys run on a M35A2 with a C turbo (aka whistler) when you turn your G Code pump up? Although I'm at 11psi right now and never hitting above 1100F on the EGT, I'm going to bump the fuel...
Well, I initiated project Lard Butt. I removed the civvy hitch assembly, pintle hitch, pintle backing plate, rear cross member, old rear bump stops, and a bunch of big Grade 8 bolts. Maybe between this weight shedding as well as a lighter load of diesel fuel tomorrow I will be closer to that...
Well, patracy was right. She is 480 lbs overweight on the rear axle for the dyno roller. I put the center of the deuce on the line between the front scale and the rear scale. Maybe I should move the rear axle more towards the front scale (edge of the rear scale)? I didn't pay attention much...
Tom, my deuce lights worked fine stock. I was concerned when I upgraded to front and rear LED lights, but they still flashed correctly. Since the deuce doesn't have parking lights for driving I jumpered the wires to provide parking lights while driving. The jumper mod does illuminate the LED...
Hornetfan: Dude, just get used to it. There are more than a handful of people that love to come into the "Deuce Modification and Hot-Rodding" forum only to say something on the deuce shouldn't be modified. No names, just an observation.
Get out there and prove them wrong! I try to do it...
Well, I jumpered wires #491 & #21 on the harness that plugs into the back of the 3 position switch on the dash. My front turn signals now illuminate with the head lights on while in service mode, but they don't blink when I use the turn signal switch. The rear LED lights do blink, however...
I didn't get a chance to weigh at the CAT scales, and the scrap yard was closed. If the rear axle weighs below 3000 lbs I will dyno next weekend and take her to 2600 rpm.
Yes, I still plan on the external roll cage. It will somehow tie into the interior to provide harness attachment points and new seat anchor points in the event of a rollover. It will be 2" DOM tube 0.188 wall for the main hoops and 0.120 wall for the rest of the cage.
My buddy owns a business where he makes GM vehicles faster (Camaros/Corvettes/Diesel Trucks). He has an in-ground Dynojet chassis dynamometer. Looking at the dynojet website it lists the maximum axle weight at 3000 lbs. Right now I have the M105A2 bed off my deuce in preparation for painting...
As soon as the weather cooperates I will pressure wash the deuce, do some sanding, and spot prime. Once the primer cures the paint will go on. Maybe by mid February?
Hank, thanks for the heads up on the brush trucks.
I found a great link with a photo gallery of brush trucks...
