I know it is a longshot, but is the front right corner dented? I sold an M548A1 to a guy who was bringing it to Alaska. There can't be too many in Alaska. It was a good machine. I am sure it is not the same one...but I thought I'd check. :)
I suggest you contact John Murray in DE. He has turbo motors and has the mechanics who could do the swap. I am unsure of the cost, though, but he is generally not too pricey in my experience.
Copy that. I just wanted to confirm we were talking about the same thing, and I also wanted to clarify in case others with good insight might have missed what you wanted.

Regarding your question about moving heavy military hardware, these trucks were designed to be run in convoys at low speeds on highways or off-road at even lower speeds. Neither of these require the ability to pull hills and maintain top speed. If you...

Welcome. PM me if you want to stop by to see or drive anything I own. I am on the other side of DC from you, though. It would probably be about 90 minutes from you.

I have had good luck with Rapco spray paint. I've painted an entire M105A2 with the paint. I did not have any of these problems, other than the spray tip clogging on occasion. The paint held up well. I had that trailer for probably seven years or more and the paint looked good. I use it for...
I would suggest you get it hauled home so you can learn about it as you go over it in the safety of your driveway. And, check out the manuals, which are available on this site. Good luck!
