    Master cylinder removal

Remove one, or even both plugs at the rear of the master cylinder, so You can slide it rearwards into the hole in the crossmember, and then tilt it and pull it out to the front.

Temporary Fix For Leaky Brake Line

Instead of the hollow bolt that connects the brake line to the cylinder, use a regular solid bolt of the same size. Line plugged.

    MUtt Wheel??

I meant the reinforcing ring welded to the outer edge of the rim. It's barely visible.

    MUtt Wheel??

These probably are not standard M151 wheels, since their stock no. is 2530-01-143-9389. They seem to have some sort of reinforcing rings welded on, this may be the reason for that different stock number. The correct stock number for M151 wheels is 2530-00-150-7832.

    M35a2c tailights

the new composite lights replaced the small older style lights in 1970, on almost all M- series vehicles, exceptions i know of are the gama goat, some armored vehicles, and some semitrailers. the mounting location changed from bed mounted position to frame mounted around 1960. the 1960 tm for...

Got a new (M275 Tractor) project a few weeks ago

This may just be unburned fuel. I had my M275A2 dripping from the exhaust, gave it a good run, that solved the problem.

    Recapping facility id

I have a few of those recaps. Most are worn and ozone cracked. I am not sure, but i think REOR is the stamp used by the 7841st tire rebuild depot Ober-Ramstadt. The depot closed in the mid '90s.

TM 9-2815-210-34, june 1978, paper version. Page 1-26. Paragraph 1-42''Differences between models''. Table 1-1: Generator type. And: Page 1-7, figure 1-6 ''Model LD 465-1, and page 1-8, figure 1-7 ''Model LD 465-1C'' clearly show the 25A generator and 60A alternator. Shortly after the changeover...

m35a2c What does the "C" mean?

. No. A1: 1960-65, turbocharged LDS 427-2 hypercycle (multifuel)engine. The S in LDS stands for supercharged. A2: 1965-89, non turbo LD 465-1 (25A generator), non-turbo LD 465-1C (60A alternator- that's right, the C suffix stands for just the 60A alternator). LDT 465-1C and LDT 465-1D...

    M109 vs m185

No, the M185 is not a radio truck. It's a shop van just like the M109. The -361 series manuals show some differences like a start-stop switch for a generator, that's used only on the M185. I also remember seeing a drill press and a bench grinder. So it looks like the M185 came as a fully...

    I want to get an M108 !

I am located about 300 km from Italy (3h including stops) and about 500km from Slovenia (Maribor or Bled, both are about the same distance from here). 6500eur is not bad all considered. I guess the gas engine and parts situation scares people off. I see M35A2 multifuelers advertised for 8-13.000...

    I want to get an M108 !

M108 or M1008? If what you are talking about is the 2-1/2 ton crane truck, go grab it and worry about the common issues later (the list is endless). These trucks are always worth saving. Any 6TL size batteries will work. Where in europe are you? Should You decide not to buy the truck, PM me, I...

    Turbo identification

Recheck your serial number. That's a 3LD305, so a serial starting with 3LD.805 makes no sense, but, who knows. This is the first one I have ever seen with the Schwitzer logo cast into the compressor housing. This turbo was standard on the early LDT 465-1C, later superceded by the 3LJ319...

    What are these?

The bars go behind the mesh guard on non-winch trucks.

    Different deuce transmission shifter shapes?

Based on the serial M55525, this truck was a M35A1 multifueler wo/winch. Studebaker & 1962 is correct. The original registration number / hood number was U.S.ARMY 4D9085, it may or may not be stamped on the replacement data plate, or painted somewhere on the inside of the truck. Replacing the...

    fuel shut off doesn't work

The only thing that keeps your idle speed down is the throttle return spring. Without it, the engine speed may go out of control, well, to the set high idle speed, normally 2850-2900 rpm, and stay there until you pull the trottle lever back by hand. Make sure your throttle linkage and return...

    LDS-427 turbo

I wasn't that far off then. Knowing that 1psi is about 2 InHg is close enough for me. I will have to go by that anyway, as I don't have an android. It would be cool to test the 4D-454C on my LDT engine (would have to swap the intake elbow, and air cleaner pipe, and make an exhaust adapter), or...
