Why because I have an opinion that counters someone else? The fact is that used equipment is only as good as its condition and that age or mileage is fairly irrelevant.
Dont confuse differing opinion as hate. Thats pretty basic thinking.

Yeah when it sits in a yard not being used or when the minimum wage dude pulls the stick and leaves it in the rain then sure it doesn't work.
So what you are advocating is that every CUCV due to it being 30 something years old needs a rebuilt drivetrain. Its all old and junk. Not sure I quite...
I just pulled mine using a $99 Harbor Freight jack. $350 plus freight gets you a very low mileage unit that works fine.
Sorry all the haters can hate because they dont install used stuff. Stop the presses, all the salvage yards are closing because its all junk. Notify LKQ...

A lot of the tanks are galvanized so I would not worry about them rusting. Plus if your tank made it this far you would not theoretically have to deal with it for another three decades. I think going plastic over steel is a moot point.

Modulator has nothing to do with the engine or it making noise in reverse. All it does is adjust line pressure based on the engine load.
If it is failing to engage then you either have a physical problem with the clutch pack or a valve body problem not applying pressure. Either way it is most...
Jeez man what were you driving through? Maybe upgrade for a submarine. I'm not going to lie, I enjoy watching trucks ford through water. Take a gander at some Camel Trophy on YouTube. Those guys are up to the roof in water. But you cut a perfectly good hood [emoji58]

Well the ORD crossmember goes under the front of the pan as opposed to the oem one which is under the balancer. Granted the ORD one gives you more clearance to the engine it will be interesting.

Both of my CUCV engines were severely under fueled. Its not tough but not super hard to get to the fuel screw if you are patient. I'd start with an 1/8 and be prepared to go to 1/4 if it didnt make light smoke at WOT. You will like the result.

I think since it has a 205 case you go neutral in the tcase but park in the trans. Transmission can't spin since it won't lubricate without the engine spinning. Tcase lubes as the rear outout spins which spins the gears which lubricates right?
Personally I'd hook on to that periscope sticking...
How much does your spare tire wobble if you grab it and try to move it?
I just made a carrier and I have nothing to compare it to.

Wow thats pretty complicated. I thought it was mostly the 160hp engine, power robbing non lockup poorly geared transmission, and 3.08 gears which belong in a Prius. But I could be wrong...
Lower your expectations or increase your spending to solve this problem. My truck carries a large aluminum...
Sleeper like that Farm Truck drag car. I love the 8.1 in my Burb. Tons of power make square trucks drive like 60's muscle cars!
Pretty hard to turn down a stock engine that came make what...600-700 foot pounds in stock form?

Anyone willing to spend $14,500 on that should seek help. Amazing no one taking my tax dollars felt ashamed for doing so.
Yeah I like my mechanically injected 6.2 mostly because it hasn't exploded yet. But $14,500 gets you a nice Duramax that will literally eat a 6.2 for lunch while getting a...
Go on Pirate4x4 and see what some people do in a 3rd world country on a dirt floor with no shoes. Insane fab work done in places like Palistan or India.
I watched a guy cast an aluminum water pump for his Toyota in what appeared to be a straw hut. Pretty impressive.

There are some aftermarket crossmembers for duramax and cummins swaps. I'd bet they are pretty close to fitting that cast aluminum pan. I would take a look if I was trying to fit a P400.

Right now my truck is starting to go hard when doing low speed parking lot stuff. Hard like grab the wheel with both hands and use your body weight. Then 10 minutes later works fine. No idea but its all getting replaced. I'm swapping in a 4L80 which needs a driveshaft refit. So last night I...
You can't beat the look of those tires!
You may think there are no weird steering responses until you go crossover and realize it is all F'd up.
