    Well, It's gone.

I'll Bet you sold it to a guy from the g838, guy named Matt? I know he was looking at one in Kansas. Rick Then again, Matt doesn't have long hair? Maybe not then. Kansas must have a bunch of 715 for sale.

    AS1729vrc antenna woes

I think you need to read up on swr a bit, The ratio to look for is 1:1, 1: 5 is bad and 1:0 is impossible. VSWR conversion calculator

    First M1009 arrived today!!!

With the parts I am seeing removed from the engine I am guessing the engine is bad. Check that out before going too far. Definitely before putting anything back on. They did not disassemble it for nothing. Put a socket on the front balancer bolt and go back and forth with it and see if the crank...

    AS1729vrc antenna woes

Transmitting with no load (broken antenna) may have fried the finals in the transmitter. You need to hook up a dummy load and check to see if it is actually still transmitting. Rick

    Civil Lawsuit Regarding M109A3

Does anyone REALLY think that the plaintiff's lawyers and the defendant's lawyers are not friends and fully intend to drag this out until nobody has any money left? The only winners here will be the lawyers and unless you are independently wealthy I can assure you that they have more money to...

Rotating Engine Stand Suggestions for 6.2

A 6.2 is just about the same weight as a big block so the heavy duty ones will work. That said the heavier the better. I put a 502 big block on one of the ones shown with the single runner out to two front wheels, will not do that again. With exhaust manifolds that is a 1000 lb. setup and it...

    4a032 powered air comp

I talked to this guy at Gilbert and he did not have any there but he does have them. He told me around 40.00 for them NOS. I have to get in touch with a friend of mine who knows him and will have his number. Rick

    locker noise

Fact of the matter is this, they act like an open rear until one wheel spins up and then the governor applies pressure to engage the teeth on the side clutch plates. The big problem is when someone stomps the pedal and one tire immediately spins up to 40 or 50 mph and then the governor kicks in...

    locker noise

I would suggest you pull the diff cover and see what is there. Dirty oil is a given but any metal filings or chunks means you caught it before it let you down on the highway. 10 bolt rears are a dime a dozen so if it is bad you should be able to find another for 100.00 or less. Look for one with...

    locker noise

OK, Let's figure out what you have in there first. Did you buy this truck from G/L or private? If it is jacked up both rear wheels in the air and in neutral, turn one wheel fairly quickly which way does the other one go? If you hold one wheel and turn the other does the driveshaft turn or is it...

    locker noise

I hate to tell you this but you should not hear a gov-loc at all! What are you hearing? What kind of sound? Those Gov-loc's tended to hand grenade if you spun one wheel to fast before they had a chance to engage. I have seen a lot of them come right through the diff cover. Rick

Anyone have a rod bolt they could loan me or know their measurements?

You guys are talking about all different bolts and even different lengths. I am not all that well versed on the multifuel but I have built a couple hundred engines in my years as a mechanic. Has anyone thought about the weight difference of the bolts and the effects of that on the big end of the...

    2nd and 3rd Tank

Why didn't you make the tank out of aluminum? Less weight and no worries about rust from the water that will inevitably be in the WMO. Rick

    rear drums getting hot!

Are the drums tight again? If yes then it is most likely rusty e-brake cables. Replace both. If the drums are not dragging then check the rear axle bearings. I would guess that since you said they were dragging from the start that the brake cables will be your issue. Rick

CDL required to drive 5 ton?

10,500 lb. boat. That is one big boat to trailer! Rick

CDL required to drive 5 ton?

IFTA should only come into play if you are hauling freight commercially. Anything that falls under ICC jurisdiction.

    Problems With 16.00 Tires

Do you have lock outs on the hubs? If not you may have a bad U-joint. Or possibly a bind in the differential, I am in no way knowledgeable about these diffs. Rick
