Some times stuff is sold as "Residue" with a restricted title. These are usually trucks (or used to be) that have been heavily damaged (roll over, jackknife, etc) and they probably felt were structurally unsafe.
I think Littlefield owned one. Other than that, a few were reclaimed in Just Cause but almost all of those went to LEOs. When they are done with them, they probably will go back to the Feds for destruction.
They have always done this. It is also not them who determines what is scrapped, the gov't does. At one point, those trailers may of had sensitive equipment inside. The Gov't doesn't care if the equipment has been removed, they still consider it sensitive.

Please give me a refresher, what happened with first release M934A2 and M1101 trailers? When were they sold, why they had to be recovered, and the outcome.
