Understood. I was hoping with this thread that some electronics guru could explain the differences in the alternator AC outputs between the two trucks.

Mine works as advertised with the fan cycling on and off. I replaced my electrical gauge with a mechanical one a while back. However that gauge stopped working and I replaced it again with the same unit. Those two gauges read within 5 degrees of each other so I guess I'm OK.

My tachometer only has 1 signal wire terminal.

Where is the most accurate place to scan the engine area with a thermal temperature gun to compare to the temperature gauge? Thermostat housing? Radiator hose?

Tried it today; no luck. I'm not getting any type of reading off of either wire with a DVM.

I'm having problems getting a tachometer to work on my 1045A2. It has the 200 amp alternator and I'm hooking up the signal wire to the AC post, yet getting no movement on the needle. I have the same exact tachometer on my LMTV and it works fine when installed there, so the tachometer is good...

My 1045A2 runs up to 210, fan kicks in and runs until back down to 190. On 90 degree days it takes around 5 minutes to repeat.

Same here, nothing but stupid recordings for 35 minutes.

Are you actually putting weight on the outriggers?

Make sure that you Mast up to the full extension, like vertical. It seems like I encountered the same issue once with RMTaunton's and it worked.

Take a flaring tool and flare the end of the tubing just enough to keep the nut from sliding off.
