I know they aren't designed to run parallel. That's why I don't see a use for it. I don't plan on having a backup generator, much less a need to seamlessly switch between them.
But wasn't sure if its just a boat anchor now or if there is another use. I know I can use the power cable from it.
the issue isn't with the knob or the cable. The issue is with the "throttle"...don't know what the word is...its not a carb. but what actually controls the throttle is what is stuck.
I have 4 MEP-803a gen-sets in Panama City right now. One was running for 16days straight at my aunts house. another one was at my cousin's inlaws and then was moved to another family members house. This one would use up the batterys while running, so we kept battery chargers on both...
I have 4 MEP-803a in Panama City right now. One was running for 16days straight. another one was at my cousin's inlaws and then was moved to another family members house. The other two haven't been used...they arrived last Wed and most people had power. One arrived with a stuck throttle...
the frequency knob pulls and pushes a cable that is attached on the other end to the throttle. It is the throttle that is stuck, not the knob. The only way I can adjust the frequency is to tap it with a hammer.
So I recently purchased a genset in which the throttle is stuck. I’ve tapped it with a hammer after letting it sit with some WD40. I can tap it back and forth, but can’t move it by hand and clearly not with the frequency knob.
Any suggestions? Replacement?
Has anyone used a Kohler load shed kit with an MEP-803A? The manual has 2 communication leads from the load shed kit to the GenSet. Obviously the 803A doesn't communicate with Kohler products (or any). The Kohler rep, dealer and distributor can't tell me if the loadshed kit will work without...
Electrician says it's a 120ft run. Says I can use #6 copper and #8 for ground. I should be good up to 75amps. The 803a rated at 52 amps.
But since i ran 1-1/2" conduit, i have the option of #4 for my legs and neutral and #6 for ground. Says it will cost more and be more difficult to pull...
I am currently laying the foundation for the concrete pad for my generator. Next I'm going to run 2 conduits from the pad to the service entrances (one for power and one for control cables.
If if I had to guess, I'm running about 150' of conduit/cable. Was going to ask an electrician friend...
Well I bought/ordered a gage from the same seller without a dent. Seller revised the photo on EBay after the purchase with a photo of a dented one. I just had someone open the package in Miami (I'm out of town), expecting to see a dented fuel gage. Turns out he sent me another completely...
