Trailer cost $325 including tax and insurance. I did careful photo analysis and determined Humvee was a good one to buy. This is straying from the “EUC” thread so I’m going to start a thread in the “What have I done to my Humvee today”.

Yes, that 55 mph sticker is no nonsense with a Humvee on board! Would start weaving at 60! 700 mile trek back to home base.

Picked mine up at Albany Georgia Monday. Was going to flat-tow it back to NC but instead rented a Uhaul car transporter. Stayed under 55 mph and it rode well. It filled every inch of the trailer!

I got a quote of $2800 for shipping. Too much for something I can do myself. Would rather spend that money on goodies for the Humvee.

Glad you have access to a nearby Tractor Supply Store. They have an amazing inventory of hinges, nuts & bolts, pins and just about anything self reliant fabricators like farmers and ranchers and DIY’ers put to good use. They also have 5’x6’x3/4” rubber horse stall mats that are great for bed...

Please ask your friend to let you post pictures of the finished project. I would appreciate seeing it, as I’m sure other members would. It would inspire many of us to try our hand at fabrication.

The ratcheting screw jack portion of the assembly can be found in the tractor accessories area at Tractor Supply stores. It is a stocked item at every store I have visited. Also a great source for the 3/4” and 1” pins for military tow bars.
