    foil tape over defrost?

I've cleaning out the dirt/dust from the 1123 I recently received from auction. After folding the windshield down, I found foil tape over most of the defrost sections. I now know why I was getting very little airflow from there. Any idea why this would have been done? Mine was a 2009 refresh...

Everything is gone from the govplanet account.

Yep, they have been offering these every time I called for status. Someone at GP is smart enough to have seen prices jump in the last 6 months and they know they will get more auctioning it today. Storage is cheap, very little downside for them unless the market turns down quickly

Best lift points for 2 post shop lift?

I’ve got an asymmetric bendpak 2 post lift in my garage and I’m wondering the best way to lift a hmmwv. The frame rails are so far inbound that the arms don’t really reach. It seems that everything else is mostly aluminum body structure and not a suitable lift point. Any lifting guidelines?

Everything is gone from the govplanet account.

Mine cleared last week. Purchased 9/15, I submitted euc on 17th, GO didn’t submit to tsc until 9/26, then resubmitted October 5th(for reason they couldn’t explain). The 65 business days is based on when tsc accepts it, it has nothing to do with when you send it into GP, they are just the...

Injection pump won't move when turning crank.

The wax is a lubricant, almost certainly just a coolant additive that has come out of suspension. I have no idea why it would concentrate in that spot, but it’s liquid as soon as the engine starts heating, so wouldn’t hurt anything. As long as enough was dug out to allow some water flow...

Injection pump won't move when turning crank.

Some coolants have wax-like additives that can come out of suspension when sitting. I've never seen it gather like that, but it seems like it's possible that it's just the coolant additives doing weird things after sitting so long. If I were you, I'd put some in some water on the stove and see...

Happy day, M1123 arrived today, question on fuel line

Could you provide details? I'll try to make it there even though it probably won't be in the hmmwv.

Happy day, M1123 arrived today, question on fuel line

I think I have a decent shot of having it roadworthy by then, but doubtful my SF97 will be done. I pulled the trigger on 4 new tires today along with a bunch of parts to sort out all the known issues (wipers, mirrors, hood bumpers, seat bases, CDR, etc.) . Tires were my biggest budget item...

Any downside to using a deep water CDR valve vs regular CDR?

Yep, I spent a bit of time on the phone with Craig this morning and he was super helpful. I've got a decent pile of parts heading my way, backordered some LED headlights, and I'm gonna get a set of tires from them if we can make the shipping $'s work (craig is checking on options).

Happy day, M1123 arrived today, question on fuel line

I was ordering a bunch of other stuff today, so I went ahead and ordered the quick connect fittings. Even though it looks like it's leaking from above the quick connect point, I think it might just be creeping up there more than flowing down. With the fan pushing air and flinging stuff...

Any downside to using a deep water CDR valve vs regular CDR?

I really appreciate you pointing this out. I had a big order tee'd up for HPG and I switched a buch of the parts to Mac. Not everthing was cheaper, but a lot of stuff was and you probably just saved me over $100. Only downside was is free shipping, but the cost savings more than make up for...

Any downside to using a deep water CDR valve vs regular CDR?

Thanks. So what role does the CDR valve play in this? Is the inlet on the CDR a place where positive pressure is applied for the crank case? I just want to make sure it's going to work just like a non-DWF version if I just plug the small hose connection for now. Thanks.

Any downside to using a deep water CDR valve vs regular CDR?

Thanks. Is it safe to assume mac motors is all genuine non-china stuff? I'm a bit paranoid hearing stories about junk aftermarket parts. Also, is it OK to use the deep water version even if I don't run it that way to start? I'm not clear what the deep water feature does on that version of...

Any downside to using a deep water CDR valve vs regular CDR?

I need to order a CDR valve and hoses for my 1123 to fix the damage done by GovPLanet. The deep water version is only $5 more, so I figured I go with it. I have not decided if I"m going to fix/replace the DWF system that was removed by GP, but I would like to have the option later if I...

Yermo dust removal - pressure washer OK? Any other recommended appraoches?

I just took delivery of a truck that has been sitting in Yermo for a while. It's full of that gritty dirt/dust, every nook and cranny. I was thinking I'd pull all floor/tunnel insulation, start with compressed air, then a hose, then a pressure washer. The pressure washer is my big question...

Happy day, M1123 arrived today, question on fuel line

I'm pretty sure it's leaking where that fitting is attached to the hose via threaded connection, not the quick connect. At least that's my hope. You can see that it's wet above the quick connect where the threaded connection is and it's running down over the quick connect. Kind of confusing...

Happy day, M1123 arrived today, question on fuel line

Thanks, good post. Yeah, I don't have a lot of time for a big project right now, but I'm also not in a hurry and enjoy the tinkering. I was originally thinking of finding one that's already been gone through or paying someone to knock out the basics, but I realized that I'd be missing out on...

Happy day, M1123 arrived today, question on fuel line

It's leaking at the bottom most fitting in the picture below (which is the highest fitting when you are under the truck). You can see in the pic where it transitions from dusty hose to wet hose, that's the connection point that is leaking. I assume it's just 2 wrenches and snug it up, just...

Happy day, M1123 arrived today, question on fuel line

Thanks. I'll definitely get some of that hose and just replace all the fuel system rubber. It's hard to tell the condition for most of the hose, a lot of it has a very heavy coat of black paint (I assume from the 2009 refurb) and it's hard to tell the paint cracking vs. hose issues when...

Happy day, M1123 arrived today, question on fuel line

Thanks for the feedback on the hose kit, I didn't realize this was any more than just buying some quality hose and cutting it to length. Those hoses on my truck don't have the litle clips, but I'm not sure that means anything (especially when one was leaking). I'm all for using the right parts...
