You may have a winner!!! Here's the S-1 I installed in my 802: same switch is used on the 803.

Looks like you got a full tool box, too. That's a nice bonus. The open sheetmetal at fuel tank and missing S-1 is concerning...like they started cannibalizing the unit. I would read up on how to proceed when there may be water in the engine - search the SS site for details. Turn engine by...
Good thread here on coolant ......https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?148379-What-coolant-amp-for-MEP-802a-Precharged-nitrite-type-or-just-green-heavy-duty-type/page2
If you go with Prestone mix 50/50 with distilled water.
I could not find the Airtex E1074 when I was looking for spare pumps. I ended up buying the Airtex E8131 (primary) and E8267 (Aux) as spares. I've only used the E8267 as a transfer pump so do not know if they will be a perfect replacement when one of my generator pumps fail. I've attached an...
Daybreak gave you the Airtex G-17 barrel filter info. Here's a couple https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ATX-G17, https://www.carid.com/airtex/electric-fuel-pump-mpn-g-17.html
Alfredo said he (or someone else) changed out all the filters....although he did not complain about how hard that water separator is to get off.
Could a partially plugged fuel return line cause this problem? I ask because I was emptying an auxiliary fuel tank the other day and tried to pump it...
You have the upgraded fuel pump. I would follow Jamawieb's advice and dive into that tank AGAIN. It sure sounds like the problem he describes.....something floating around the fuel system until picked up and plugs the system up. May also check fuel pump wiring...but this is from left field...
I'm thinking future maintenance: is your generator on wheels for moving away from that wall? I think I would have a problem squeezing in that space and opening the door. Several guys on the site have put their skid mounted units on casters for rolling around the garage.
Unless you are talking about a removable tarp you will still need holes in the cover to allow the exhaust flapper to open and the air exhaust to exit the radiator. A short stack will work with a removable tarp as long as you remember to remove the tarp before start up.
Your first pic shows where the fuel tank drain is located on my MEP-802A - inside the engine compartment. That's where I pulled mine from. On an 803A the drain is located outside of the unit as shown in attached picture. Boatman69's first post was regarding his MEP-802A. I think this 'fix'...
I did some research on lockable handles for my generators earlier this year. What I found was not cheap.....

I started looking for the well nut. A3816. That takes you to the parts for Figure 17.

Boatman69 indicated in post #1 that all you needed was the fitting with the O ring and a 3/4" flat washer. His pic shows the brass nut hiding the 3/4" washer, I believe. The O ring should be inside the tank sealing the fitting against the plastic fuel tank. It appears that Boatman69 did not...

AOR shows you how in the above link. The rest of the thread discusses fuel hose options.
