    Dual fuel tank install

You replied; "I put that back on post 21. Both diagrams, one electrical and the other the plumbing." Somehow I only saw the electrical drawing, thanks for clarification.

    Dual fuel tank install

I have done nothing more on my "dual tank" system than mounting the second tank. I was thinking along the same lines as you with the check valves, but you have gone further with filters and gauges. Do you have a "plumbing schematic" indicating how and where you placed the check valves, filters...

Tim, I am glad you mentioned the sound deadening in the doors, something I neglected. A square body GM truck door does close with a "bong" more than a "thud" when everything is right due to the "drum effect" of the sheet metal skin, GMs with a better factory "sound package" often have a heavy...

I think the reason there are no instructions with the pin and bushing kit is the simple fact that doing it right is not easy and a lot of potential customers would not purchase the kit to begin with. Not only should you remove the door but the front fender as well. it has been several years...

I really like this idea, especially since this morning I had to get out of the truck and do the headlight "smack" on the passenger side to get it to turn on, kind of obvious there is an issue with good contact with the headlight plug to the lamp. Since I need to work on it anyway, I really...

Sounds like good progress, lots of small things that really add up a more enjoyable driving experience are often more satisfying than a major item like rebuilding an engine, not to mention less costly!

I have found there are two possible problems for cold starting, the first is the obvious glow plug issue, the other took me a while to figure out as it came on very slowly. I first experienced it when the overnight temperatures dropped, then later I noticed is was worse if the front of the truck...

The cockpit lights are 24 volt but the 12 volt conversion is merely installing a 12 volt lamp, they do offer them in new LED but WOW are they expensive, so I am happy with them as is and can always upgrade later or perform a "LED enhancement" when other projects are completed.

I chose the Bluetooth head set with only one ear covered just to avoid a ticket, not that having my ears uncovered in my M35A2 would allow me to hear anything over the truck itself........... but I try not mix logic into laws that are more revenue based than safety based. I do often wonder how...

That canister is actually a aircraft cockpit light and the coiled power cord is what you see as a flexible tube. It is a fun little item used in both military and commercial aircraft, has red and clear lenses as well as a flood/spot adjustment. It is set in a mount that allows the light to be...

I am almost afraid to delve into the "Carputer" aspect of your build as it will probably be yet another item I find just too darn cool/useful to do with out. I did cave to the technology a bit and added a holder for the smart phone attached to the front of the center console, it positions the...

I do hope you enjoy your M1009 as much as I have mine. It was a low mileage basket case when I towed it home from Nellis AFB and it took awhile to get it where it is today but it is very reliable, starts easier than most new cars and puts a smile on my face everyday I drive it. I have been...

I don't see that you resolved the turn signal working with the headlights, I had a similar problem and traced it to a broken lamp socket, a piece of metal that made contact with the outer shell of the lamp base broke off and was laying across both filament pins on the base of the lamp so when...

    Feeler for M35A2 Hard Tops

First I am also interested in a possible source for a steel hardtop, as to paint, I have to agree with PyroJoe, most of the new cars have galvanized sheet-metal for better rust resistance and they are painted and repaired after wrecks. Even aluminum requires an etching primer to get the paint to...
