Extra tools and different BII for wreckers

That is the same tool you gave me at the rally, Thank You, I use it all the time, I keep finding another use for it, keep it within a few steps so easy to grab, already has saved a few smashed fingers, one thing though, I have forgotten what the three color strips signify, I am going to paint...

    bobbed 5ton costs

Not a m35 if it has a 5th wheel, as far as the driveshaft, just have one cut down to fit., I had one done for a 5t for $80

M1070 Want to Retrofit Dash Kit, Need Help!

There is a kit but was only used as needed, as far as I could find out, there was no retrofit program for the dash, so finding the kit may be tough, I have a low hr. HET in my driveway (BART), it has the single tachograph, according to the TMs, the 1070 had a "A" dash or a "B" dash. When the...

    Hard Copy Manuals

The 211 series TMs are for the 39 series 5t, which has juice brakes so no updated version for ABS is available.

    Hard Copy Manuals

The 211 series TMS are for the 39 series 5t. If you can find a G744 tm, this is the parts book for the 39 series BEFORE the the 2320-211-----, everything is the same as the 211 TMS but BETTER, it gives bolt size, length, ect., it gives who made the part, the mfg. pn, if more then one maker...

    M35A2 Overdrive

The truck is NOT designed to keep up with traffic, depending on WHAT tires you are using, they may NOT be designed to keep up with traffic, the truck is NOT designed to STOP when kept up with traffic STOPS, even with duel circuit brakes and loosing 1/2 of the system will only cause a bigger...

oil gage works and then stops working after about ten minutes.

Sounds like a bad oil pressure sender, hook up a mechanical oil pressure gauge to see what the REAL pressure is, I have the same issue with a temp. gauge. Also it depends on what 5t as to the small wire, on the 809 series it goes to the cold start manifold heater spark plug, on the 939 series...

    M923A2 Transmission/Drivetrain Question

I do not think it would take much to put in a trans out of a 809 series, this way you would allow right side clearance for the front winch drive shaft,, all would be needed is the correct flywheel and the matching clutch pack, and a new drive shaft between the trans and transfer, a modded floor...

    Locking fuel cap

Not all drain plugs come out easy, not all fuel thiefs carry a big enough wrench, on the 930 series it is harder to punch a hole then the older tanks.

    Locking fuel cap

I am not for locking fuel caps because if some one is going to steal fuel, I would rather lose a fuel cap then a punched hole in the fuel tank and ALL the non stolen fuel on the ground.

    stuck in 1st gear

WOW, this keeps changing, now it is a 318 conversion, just some advice for future help questions, it helps if ALL the pertinent info (like drive off trailer, conversion, ect.) is in the first post

    stuck in 1st gear

I was just responding to your first post, now that things have changed, pull the trans top, shift with a screwdriver and drive off the trailer

    stuck in 1st gear

Put transfer case in neutral, then roll the truck off the trailer, there is no need to drop drive shafts, pull axles ect. OR better yet, just step on the clutch, and roll it off, I do not see the need for any great effort to get the darn thing "off the trailer", worse case, back up to a tree...

Front bumper storage. Looking for ideas?

I would not bend the bumpers back, they are where they are to protect the tires and fenders, if there is a issue where the bumper is bent, it will not go into the tires or fenders, the bumper will take the hit, bend, get trashed, but the truck can keep on going

    Mk48 LVS Hydraulic Specs

You need the existing pump for the steering, there is NO pto on the MK48s, the pump is live 100% of the time, according to the hyd. schematic, you have 3000 psi coming to the rear, with pressure reducing to the winch control stand for some of the functions there, same with the crane control...

    Uploading pics problem

I had this same issue, SIR PATRACY with great patience despite the NON KGR help me figure out how to do what I wanted to do in the first place, this is why the "Code name BART" thread is up, I believe it has something to do with the total number of pictures that can be stored, being the...

Code name BART (Bad A** Recovery Truck)

The hyd. hoses are a 4 wire impregnated cloth cover then painted (many layers of paint), this kind of hose cover invites moisture intrusion over time, this moisture causes the wire in the hose to rust, as long as the hose does not move, bend ect, things are not to bad though in time the hose...

Code name BART (Bad A** Recovery Truck)

166" with both all the way out, the outriggers share a common hyd. cylinder that expands the outrigger beams.
