thanks for the link. the manual in that IS what i was looking for. i think I'm short a ball bearing, iv got a space that looks like another bearing will fit. i see there is suppose to be 24, so ill go count and if short, evidently they are suppose to be in the 1/2" range, so ill go to mcmaster...
just google act-50. i know you said you found it on amazon and this is an older thread, but check the pilot/flight training websites. they are usually cheaper.
well heck, if that is all they are for, i don't feel bad in accidentally tearing the spindle one then. i'll just make new ones as you did. i guess to many yrs working on things that require oem or equivalent parts has got me to searching for said and specified part replacement.
thank you for...
thank you for the link.
now I'm trying to locate the felt seals for the rollers, and the felt o-ring for the pulley spindle.
any of ya'll got any sources using the NSNs? iv searched via p/n and NSNs, eBay, google and several nsn/pn look ups and nothing is showing. mcmaster carr does have...
well, i pulled the winding unit apart and the rollers were gummed up bad. after cleaning, i put it back together, but the washers (not the thrust washers) seemed to be pressing against the rollers causing a bit of binding. they were concave towards the rollers, so i turned them so the cave faces...
The rollers are not really free turning. I whooped on them with a brass hammer head and got them to “stiffly” free up. The zerks are corroded shut or broke, so i’ll be getting new zerks today, tear the unit down, clean, free up and lube everything and see about getting the mess of cable spooled...
have you tried enterprise rental? i was turning our pilot truck a few yrs ago and the drop off lot had airbrake equipped box and stake bed trucks for rent. un sure of cost, but I'm sure going from big city to big city, I'm sure it can be arranged for a 1 way drop, especially if the drop city has...
here are th pics of the winding system and bridge and the distance between the guide lips of the rollers and the bridge.
is anyone else's front winch like this?
Another good petroleum absorbing material is blown glass mats or pig mats. They wont absorb water, yet will soak up any petroleum product mixed in the water and will wick it away as more is absorbed.
I replaced my hydro tank drain valve bc it was weeping, added in some stabilizer and serviced...
What did the remote and actuators cost you if you dont mind me asking. Msg me if you dont want it open to all on cost.
I was thinking of going with 1 8 position for the crane, and a 4 pos for the rear and front winches.
The HF remote pack is their wireless remote.

Iv been using it on my warn 18k and it works as did on the badlands 12k, which I think i’ll Be buying another 1, while getting the motor replaced on...
936
What’s with all the ? marks? How hard would have been to ask your question with just 1 ? mark
I thought I put 936 in my msg body, but no, I didn’t. I’ll rectify that
Found out yesterday paying out only SUCKS, I wish there was a free spool like on the front. I think I’m gonna use a 2500-3000 lb atv winch to help payout.
Get the remote pack from harbor freight and it seems to work with new batteries, out to about 50’. Depending how far i’ll Have to drag...
Today, I replaced the drain cock for the hydro tank, which meant drain the fluid. I added 2 gal of Lucas hydro stop leak. I ran everything to get the Lucas through all the lines and motors. I got to the front winch and had issues with the drum lock, got that fixed and pulled all the cable out...
What about hydraulic hook ups for the dump system? Tee off the front winch pto and plumb in the cab with a spool valve then out the back near the pintle?
I was thinking of buying dump pup trailer and using that for small loads of rock and pull with my a2 wrecker.
Like you said, it’s just a recommendation. How many of us have used something or done something that mentions a 2 person minimum. 99.9% of all maintenance on our acft says “have helper” when performing said task.
I was thinking of using a winch with a synthetic line for those elastic...
Well, got both wreckers home today. The wrecker company I bought the, from delivered the non operational 1 with a rollback semi trailer and used a wheel lift truck to back close enough to where I needed it and dropped it. The wife and I played with the drag winch and yarded the parts truck into...
