Standard radios for all MVs during that time would be the RT524 transceiver and the optional R442 receiver. They are easily found online. Price varies based on it you want it fully operational, just for display, etc. I do not know however how it was mounted in a M882 or if it even was...
Theoretically it could work if the BNC connector was directly connected to the bottem of the whip (no tuner, etc) and you cut it down to the correct length.
I think a 160 in flying condition is a little low. Glad the pilot is ok. I am sure the damage to the bird will buff out and if it doesn't, get some duck tape
Nope, this one went for higher and you got a plane that goes with it, all for charity. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Archive/Event/Item/1958-DODGE-M37-MILITARY-TRUCK-162923
Security has really tightened up (probably post Chattanooga). We went to Tobyhanna to pick up 3 shelters. When we visited in 2010 and again in 2012, we were allowed to snap as many pictures of the displays as we wanted, not this time though, no pictures.
Why are gamma goats on the demil list? The only reason I can think of is the noise and I do not think that is an excuse to put it on the list. Did they have a tendency to over turn wit the 4 wheel steering?
I am a member of a few other Military forums and I have read something about recoilless rifles being mounted on a M37? It does makes sense, we all know what GI creativity looks like (M113 + M54 = M113 Gun truck). Does anyone have any photos of this?
